Truong Gia Binh was voted typical ICT figure in 2000-2009
On 2nd February, the ceremony on announcement of ten typical ICT characters of Vietnam in 2000-2009 voted by ICT journalists took place in Hanoi.

As voted by forty journalists and editors from daily newspapers and magazines selecting from 20 nominees, ten typical ICT figures this time are well-known in the ICT industry. The name list bears the name of Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation.
During the last decade (2000-2009), the Vietnam ICT has progressed rapidly and impressively. Vietnam Internet-Telecommunication has gradually put off the coat of monopoly and boomed. The IT industry (software, content, hardware) has taken a giant leap and become a glow on the IT map of the world. ICT applications have been more and more popular and effective in every aspect of the socio-economic lift.
Those whose names are honored have outstanding footprints during the development of Vietnamese ICT including introduction of telephone and Internet, shortening the digital gap, promoting competitiveness and pioneering in software and security.
On behalf of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunication, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong expressed the gratitude to the ten figures selected by the press for their merits which are “extremely magnanimous and abide with breakthrough events and bold decisions that have positive impacts on the development of the industry”.
