Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong said that the Party and the State attached special importance to the development of technology, especially high-tech science. In 1960s, the Party and the State determined that in order to reach socialism there had to be three revolutions including revolution in relations of production, scientific and technological and ideological- cultural revolution. In particular, scientific and technological played a key role.

In recent years, some achievements have been gained thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Management Board of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park. Mr. Trong hoped that Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park would develop more strongly and get further results.

The General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said that investment in education and science and technology was an investment in development.

On the same day, the General Secretary and the delegation visited FPT Corporation. Two member companies including FPT Software and FPT University are located here.

According to Chairman of FPT Software Hoang Nam Tien, the company was facing great opportunities from Japan and the United States. Vietnamese engineers could be able to fairly compete with the engineers of IBM and HP. He said that Vietnam was a destination of major companies in Japan and hundreds of millions of Americans were using solutions developed by FPT.

For attracting human resources in the high-tech parks as the Hoa Lac, HCM and IT Parks, Mr. Hoang Nam Tien also suggested the Government should issue preferential policies of income tax to attract talents.
