The information system for public health sector management was officially announced to be conducting starting from January 21st. It is a digital platform that supports locals to easily and proactively access health services.  At the same time, with this new system, the province shows their determination in implementing comprehensive digital transformation in the health sector.

The information system for public health sector management for Dong Thap province is developed thoroughly by FPT Corporation. With the core section is the Medical Information Switching Axis (FPT.HIE) - allowing the record, connection and processing of information and data from local medical examination & treatment facilities.

The health system of Dong Thap is now connected with every other local hospital in the province. Hence, this enables the creation of an online medical database (CDR - Clinical Data Repository) of more than 1 million records of personal health profiles with over 9.7 million medical examinations and treatments of the people ever since 2018. The system is installed on modern HPE’s server and storage devices including: 6 HPE Synergy Gen 10; HPE 4PAR 8400 - a premium storage system which guarantees fluent and stable operation at all times.

With this platform, Dong Thap Health Department has also announced locals with the mobile application. Using the application, people can book appointments without any additional costs in the network of their local health services.

The digital transformation in the health sector has made a positive change in local management and administration. Dong Thap Health Department is now equipped with interactive screens to display real-time data, furthermore, allowing multi-dimensional data synthesis and monitoring. These advantages give the leaders of Dong Thap’s Health sector a quick and effective way to get accurate, updated information in the decision-making process, monitoring and warning, especially in this current situation of pandemic. Meanwhile, doctors can have quick access to old electronic medical records, such as history information to test results, diagnostic imaging even though patients might have gone to different medical facilities. This feature will cross out unnecessary repeated indications for laboratory and subclinical testing, therefore, saving medical bills for the people.
