FPT arranged blood donation event and gave over 800 blood units
In the context of a severe dearth of blood due to the effect of the epidemic on September 1, over 800 employees of FPT have united in the spirit of joining hands, sharing with the community, and ensuring epidemic prevention regulations to participate in the "Blood of Gratitude" program at FPT Tower, Hanoi.

During the extended societal distancing, some blood donation plans have been discontinued, and the quantity of blood received and stored has fallen considerably, notably in the Ho Chi Minh City epidemic hot spots. FPT had rapidly encouraged employees voluntarily to share with the community since it was aware that voluntary blood donation to save lives has become more critical than ever. Following four days of promoting, on September 1, in the heart of the stressful epidemic, more than 800 blood units were donated in Hanoi by the FPT faculties and their relatives. FPT planned in the following days to keep organizing blood donations in certain provinces and towns to help hospitals save more lives.
Praising the FPT staff's spirit, MSc. Le Lam — The National Institute for Hematology and Blood Transfusion's deputy director evaluated that it is now rare for any unit to appeal for many blood donors to organize professionally such as FPT. "I applaud FPT employees' golden heart, who have managed to donate their blood to the health industry within the challenging epidemic situation. I hope that this movement will have a big impact on individuals and organizations in the society join forces to fight against the disease with the country as a whole.” He further stated: "These blood units are currently sorely needed for Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong."
On the event, Mr. Nguyen the Phuong, the Vice general director of the FPT, also presented the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion Medical Team with a total of 5,000 antibacterial masks for safe prevention of the disease.
"There is now a significant demand for blood to provide many urgent cases. Thus I want to donate as many as 450 ml of blood as my number one priority, but more procedures are needed. Therefore, I decided to contribute 350 ml, and this is my 10th time joining a blood donation event” Mr. Pham Thanh Tung, an FPT staff, shared.
Ms. Dao Thi Oanh, an FPT staff, understood the stressful pandemic situation and severe lack of blood units of the country: "I've read the news recently and know my blood will be more resistant if I was vaccinated as well. I've already got two shots, so I signed up for blood donation with my colleagues. My spouse is not working for FPT, but I also asked him today to join the event."
Previously, FPT had supported installing IT equipment such as cameras, online meetings, and computers in various hospitals at multiple national field hospitals include the Hoang Mai District Field Hospital, Hanoi (30 August), and several Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho field hospital since July to safeguard frontline forces and join hands in the epidemic prevention and control efforts.
