On June 20, the Medical Technology 4.0 - Medtech 4.0 Exhibition and Conference was held by the Vietnam Medical Association (WMA) and Bhub Group. FPT Information System Company Limited (FPT IS) was the only representative for technology developers to attend the Plenary session and Panel discussion of the event.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kinh - Standing Vice Chairman of WMA - welcomed guests: "The event is a forum for discussing solutions, helping the Ministry of Health construct policies and strategies. It creates opportunities for medical facilities to get updates of the infrastructure requirements for digital transformation and for health workers to adapt to new technologies, thereby fulfilling the people's needs for medical treatment and health care".
Mr. Nguyen Truong Nam - Deputy Director of the IT Department under the Ministry of Health - shared "Hot issues in healthcare digital transformation in Vietnam in 2022 - 2025". He affirmed that raising awareness and creating institutions would be critical to achieving success in digital transformation. Furthermore, we should maintain digital infrastructure, data, and platform development while ensuring information security and resource enhancement for productive and legitimate digital transformation. Hospital digital transformation got considerable improvements so far but retained limitations. For example, some hospitals did not pay attention to IT and digital transformation, leading to a lack of synchronization. Additionally, it was a lack of connectivity, communication, and sharing among systems and software. Moreover, financial mechanism issues for digital transformation and limitations in the IT capacity of medical facilities also mattered. Accordingly, Mr. Nam set out specific orientations in hospital digital transformation, including: Forming paperless hospitals, using electronic medical documents such as digital films, electronic prescriptions, electronic health records, promoting telemedicine, applying AI, Big Data, IoT...

From a solution provider's perspective, in the presentation "Patient-centric hospital transformation," Mr. Nguyen Xuan Viet - Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at FPT IS - started his speech with FPT Digital Kaizen - the exclusively digital transformation approach and methodology of FPT. Then, clinging to the "People's War" concept, he described a synchronous and drastic way of "getting in" digital transformation with changes spreading down from top leaders synchronously to all levels, working together towards better patient service. "Patients should be taken care of right at their residence. So they may feel loved, respected, and enjoyable like staying in a hotel or traveling on a plane," - Mr. Viet noted.
Mr. Viet affirmed FPT's approaches to digital transformation in healthcare: patient-centered orientation, data-driven decision making, ecosystem establishment, and experience enhancement. With more than 20 years of accompanying the healthcare industry, FPT IS owned a comprehensive ecosystem of digital health solutions. Furthermore, the company was constantly embracing the latest trends, applying the latest 4.0 technologies to perfect their solutions, serving multi-dimensionally from management leaders to doctors, nurses, and especially the people. As a result, FPT IS's digital health ecosystem became "sufficient assistants" of more than 300 hospitals and 20 health departments across the country. In particular, Prof. Dr. Senior Colonel Tran Quoc Viet - Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175 - highly appreciated the Smart Hospital Management System - FPT.eHospital 2.0+ of FPT IS in his presentation on digital transformation experience at Military Hospital 175.
Thanks to digital technologies such as AI - which automatically identifies and assists doctors in detecting abnormalities in electronic medical records - and automated chatbots, FPT IS's medical solutions not only brought a breath of fresh air to hospital operation and management but also improved the medical examination/treatment quality.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Viet - Chief Technology Officer, FPT IS - gave a speech on the topic "Patient-centric hospital transformation."
In the panel discussion on the topic "Digital transformation in hospitals: From policy to practice," Mr. Viet clarified the financial difficulties when implementing digital transformation in hospitals. He emphasized that FPT IS provided multiple implementation plans for different hospital types and budgets. "Instead of buying hardware and software packages, FPT IS now offers a variety of rental models for hospitals to choose from according to their conditions and needs. We even allow the subscription payment instead of software licensing, which means that the hospital only pays for each service or process separately, "- Mr. Viet said.
Within the event's framework, the FPT IS exhibition booth got the exceptional attention of guests with FPT.eHospital 2.0+, FPT.EMR - The electronic medical record management system, the "Doctor at home" software...
