2,000 pidada trees planted by FPT Software in Soc Trang mangrove forests

On the morning of September 18, within the framework of the project to plant 10,000 pidada trees in the area of Dinh An estuary, FPT Software cooperated with Green Happiness planting 2,000 trees.

2,000 pidada trees in Soc Trang is the event to start the chain of planting 20,000 trees globally, following Run For Green campaign by FPT Software to spread the spirit of living a healthy and green lifestyle in the community.

FPT Software reassured that more than 16,000 employees around the world will participate in Run For Green campaign to finish a distance of 20 circles round the Earth and plant 20,000 trees worldwide.

The tree-growing area is in the estuary of the Hau River and severely affected by high tides. This not only affects daily life, but also makes agricultural land and aquaculture area increasingly affected by the intrusion of saltwater.

The planting will increase the area of mangrove forests in sea-dyke protection, protect the environment and biodiversity. At the same time, pidada fruits and aquaculture will increase the opportunities for local people's livelihoods development.

"We believe that the forest expansion is a meaningful and necessary activity. FPT Software wants to make its contributions to environmental activities", said Chairman and Director FPT Software HCM Nguyen Duc Quynh.

Previously, FPT Japan planted 200 cherry blossom trees in Naganno village. They will continue plantign trees in Hanoi in October, Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh) and HCMC in November.

With these activities, FPT Software expects to bring about positive changes to the environment, and become a leading technology enterprise in Vietnam to pursuit the sustainable development.
