Comprehensive Cooperation Across Four Core Areas
Under the agreement, Bach Mai Hospital and FPT Corporation will collaborate across four key areas: (1) comprehensive digital transformation, (2) application of technology in healthcare and treatment, (3) employee health and community care, and (4) training and human resource development.
First, in comprehensive hospital digital transformation, FPT will provide strategic consulting and develop end-to-end digital transformation solutions for Bach Mai Hospital toward the smart hospital model. The two sides will jointly build centralized clinical and open research data repositories to enable AI-assisted medical decision-making and scientific research. They will also implement data integration frameworks connected to national and international healthcare databases, and deploy Telemedicine services for remote consultations, medical training, and online academic sessions.
Second, the two sides will develop and apply science and technology in healthcare. This includes the use of AI to predict patient needs, assist in imaging diagnostics, ultrasound, endoscopy, and clinical decision support. AI will also optimize resource allocation, manage medical supply chains, and forecast demand for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, thereby improving hospital efficiency. In parallel, FPT and Bach Mai Hospital will jointly research and develop digital healthcare products to enhance medical services and patient experience.
Third, Bach Mai Hospital will accompany FPT in protecting and improving employee health through comprehensive medical check-up packages, specialist consultations (including with international experts), on-site healthcare services, and periodic monitoring. The two organizations will jointly conduct first-aid and basic healthcare training for FPT employees, women, and children, and collaborate on community health and charity programs for underprivileged groups.
Fourth, in training and workforce development, FPT will support the hospital in management, digital transformation, and AI training. In return, Bach Mai Hospital will coordinate in training doctors, nurses, and pharmacists for FPT Long Chau’s healthcare network. Both sides will also engage in joint CSR initiatives supporting disadvantaged patients, especially women and children.
Towards a Smart, Humane, and People-Centered Healthcare System
With nearly 115 years of history, Bach Mai Hospital is a special-grade general hospital under the Ministry of Health and one of Vietnam’s top medical centers in cardiology, resuscitation, toxicology, imaging, and clinical medicine. The hospital and FPT have cooperated in digital transformation since 2014, starting with the FPT.eHospital project — a smart hospital management system that digitized medical data and standardized workflows, significantly reducing waiting times for millions of patients annually. More recently, FPT deployed the FPT.Contract e-signature solution, helping the hospital digitize contract processes, save time and costs, and ensure legal compliance.
In recent years, Bach Mai Hospital has emerged as a leading example of digital transformation in Vietnam’s healthcare sector. It pioneered electronic medical records, interconnected health data systems, and the use of AI and Big Data in diagnostics, treatment, and management. The hospital also developed a mobile app enabling patients to book appointments, access records, and receive results online — embodying its vision of a patient-centered, transparent, and modern healthcare environment.
With over 23 years of experience in healthcare technology, FPT currently collaborates with more than 300 hospitals and six provincial health departments across Vietnam, supporting tens of thousands of healthcare professionals and facilitating around 30 million medical visits annually. The corporation aims to build a comprehensive digital healthcare ecosystem that provides efficient, seamless services for regulators, medical facilities, pharmaceutical companies, pharmacies, and citizens.
Leveraging over a decade of expertise in AI research and development, FPT has integrated AI to enhance healthcare quality and expand access to personalized medical services — including telemedicine and real-time patient monitoring. In the pharmaceutical sector, FPT’s digital solutions are helping optimize the entire value chain, from pharmaceutical R&D digitalization, to advanced omni-channel pharmacy systems, and integrated medication management platforms connecting patients, doctors, and pharmacies. Key partners include FPT Long Chau Pharmacy, Hitachi Medical Devices, Olympus, MedAdvisor, Zuellig Pharma, and BrightInsight.
The partnership between Bach Mai Hospital and FPT Corporation marks an important step in the modernization of Vietnam’s healthcare sector — combining medical expertise with technological innovation to enhance care quality, management efficiency, and service for citizens, in alignment with the national digital transformation goals set forth in Resolutions 57-NQ/TW and 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
