On the morning of February 9, the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with Nghe An Province, held the inauguration ceremony of My Ly 2 Semi-Boarding Primary School for Ethnic Minorities (My Ly Commune), bringing improved learning conditions to teachers and students in the border area of Nghe An, which had previously been heavily affected by floods. The ceremony also marked the success of the 14th National Party Congress and demonstrated the strong commitment of the Party and the State to education, particularly in ethnic minority, mountainous, and border regions facing significant challenges.

Attending the ceremony were Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security; leaders of Nghe An Province; representatives of ministries and agencies; as well as representatives of FPT Corporation, along with local officials, teachers, students, and residents.

My Ly 2 Semi-Boarding Primary School for Ethnic Minorities is one of the projects initiated by the Ministry of Public Security through mobilizing social resources, with FPT Corporation as a key partner supporting Nghe An Province in reconstruction after severe flood damage. Previously, following Storm No. 3, a two-story classroom building was almost entirely buried in mud up to the first floor, a single-story building was swept away, and many auxiliary facilities were heavily damaged.

According to local authorities, with the coordination of the Ministry of Public Security and the support of FPT Corporation, the project was completed on schedule, meeting requirements for teaching, learning, and semi-boarding activities. Nghe An Vice Chairman Thai Van Thanh expressed sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Public Security for proactively mobilizing and connecting FPT to support the locality, together with relevant units, in effectively implementing the project.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung emphasized that the project holds practical significance in improving living standards in border areas, contributing to safeguarding national sovereignty through strong, resilient communities. He encouraged students to value their improved learning conditions, strive for academic excellence, and contribute to the development of their homeland and country in the future.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, affirmed that FPT’s participation in the project reflects its commitment to improving educational conditions for children in disadvantaged border areas, thereby contributing to national development. Community support activities, particularly in education, have long been a core component of FPT’s corporate social responsibility efforts.

The policy to invest in building 248 schools in border communes was outlined by the Politburo in Notice No. 81 dated July 18, 2025, identifying it as a key task in socio-economic development, improving education levels, developing ethnic minority human resources, and strengthening national defense and security. These schools are required to meet technical standards in scale and area, each accommodating approximately 30 classrooms and around 1,000 students, with full infrastructure including electricity, clean water, drainage, transportation, and telecommunications.

The My Ly 2 project is designed to meet standard specifications, including key facilities such as an administrative and academic support building; functional classrooms and dining hall; classroom blocks; student dormitories; teacher housing; kitchen and multi-purpose hall; along with other auxiliary works. The total construction area is 2,645 square meters on a land plot of 13,746.3 square meters. The project is part of the plan to build or renovate 100 inter-level boarding schools in land border communes in 2025, with expected completion before August 30, 2026.

Throughout its development, FPT has implemented numerous key corporate social responsibility initiatives, prioritizing education through programs such as “Supporting Students to School” and “New Look for Schools,” providing scholarships, teaching equipment, semi-boarding kitchens, and school sanitation facilities. The corporation has also contributed to healthcare programs, community health initiatives, and disaster relief efforts, helping improve living conditions in many localities across the country.
