For more than 8 years, the project has gone through four stages of construction and development to meet the growing and expanding demands of the professionals who handle eCustoms procedures, serving more than 3,000 frequent users of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, 34 Departments of Customs and more than 300 branches across the country.

Some core goals to 2020:
Simplifying and optimizing eCustoms procedures and management regimes, serving more than 3,000 regular users of the General Department of Vietnam Customs in more than 34 key areas; implementing pre-arrival information exchange, billing and management of electronic licensing.
Build a modem customs information technology system on the basis of centralized data processing and integration of all functions, processing e-customs dossiers, e-manifests, e-payment and e-licenses; building an e-portal to connect and exchange information with the authorities; implementing the national one gate customs mechanism and taking part in the ASEAN one gate customs mechanism.

Simplify customs procedures, shorten customs clearance time and reduce costs for enterprises.

For the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the successful deployment of eCustoms system would mean the successful implementation of e-customs procedures – the core mission of Customs since Vietnam joined the World Customs Organization (WCO).
The eCustoms system has brought favorable IT infrastructure for Import-Export enterprises, contributing to an improvement in national competitiveness.
