World-leading Scientists Gather in Vietnam to Discuss Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence

26/05/2026

As Southeast Asia accelerates its digital economy and Vietnam increasingly emerges as a dynamic innovation hub, a new wave of AI is creating demand for deeper dialogue among researchers, businesses, educational institutions, and the broader technology community. These conversations not only help update stakeholders on global AI trends but also contribute to shaping how Vietnam prepares itself to enter the AI era proactively, responsibly, and with people at the center.

Against this backdrop, GStar Summit 2026 is expected to become one of the Asia-Pacific region’s most notable AI gatherings this year. On May 29, 2026, GStar Summit 2026, themed “AI & Humanity,” will take place at Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City. The forum is co-organized by New Turing Institute (NTI), a pioneering nonprofit organization building AI ecosystems in Southeast Asia, and Pacific Gateway Partners (PGP), a strategic bridge connecting the United States and Asia. The event is supported by Google and FPT as strategic partners, with sponsorship from Vietnam Airlines, Grab, LIFE AI, VNG, Calif, and Galaxy Holdings.

GStar Summit 2026, taking place on May 29, brings together scientists, technology experts, educators, and founders pursuing diverse approaches to AI.

The forum gathers world-leading scientists and experts who are building AI systems capable of human-like reasoning, educators redefining the meaning of learning in the AI era, and founders deploying artificial intelligence across healthcare, financial inclusion, and language technologies.

Featured speakers include: Dr. Luong Minh Thang, Principal Scientist and Research Director at Google DeepMind, architect of the Gemini system that won a Gold Medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad and is now applied in scientific research; Professor Po-Shen Loh, Mathematics Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and former coach of the U.S. National Math Olympiad Team, who gives lectures in over 100 cities annually on education in the AI age; Dr. Ed H. Chi, Vice President of Research at Google DeepMind, who directly contributed to large language models behind Bard and Gemini; and Ms. Wendy Uyen Nguyen, Co-founder of Pacific Gateway Partners and a globally recognized healthcare innovator with over two decades of experience connecting Vietnam with international AI ecosystems.

The speaker lineup also includes leading experts from FPT Corporation, Qualcomm AI Research, Google Asia Pacific, Boryung, MoMo, MBZUAI, VinUniversity, Pacific Gateway Partners, Galaxy Holdings, Milken Institute, and pioneering startups such as Tynapse, Kotoba Technologies, and LIFE AI. Together, they are expected to share lessons learned from deploying AI in products, research, and enterprise operations at global scale.

For Vietnam’s technology community, the event presents a rare opportunity to engage directly with individuals leading the world’s top AI laboratories—helping narrow the gap between local potential and international standards.

Ahead of GStar Summit 2026, on May 27, several international speakers will also participate in a dedicated session with FPT engineers and the technology community through the event “AI: Shaping Human-Centered Innovation” in Hanoi.

The event will feature scientists and experts including Dr. Luong Minh Thang, Ms. Wendy Nguyen, Professor Po-Shen Loh, Dr. Ed H. Chi, Mr. Jay Kim, Mr. Preslav Nakov, and Ms. Jean Desombre, with the goal of creating a space for discussion around human-centered AI, technology workforce development, and innovation ecosystem collaboration.

The “AI: Shaping Human-Centered Innovation” event in Hanoi is organized exclusively for FPT engineers and the broader technology community.

The presence of numerous international AI experts in Vietnam at the same time highlights the growing attention the global technology community is paying to Vietnam’s innovation potential. As AI continues reshaping how people learn, work, and create, gatherings such as GStar Summit 2026 and related side events not only provide insights into emerging technologies but also strengthen international collaboration and foster conversations around building AI that is safe, responsible, and centered on humanity.
