The Duke of Richmond, Representative of the British Royal Family, Visits FPT Da Nang

As part of his visit to Vietnam, His Grace Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, Duke of Richmond – representative of the British Royal Family – together with his spouse, visited the FPT Software headquarters in Da Nang and met with students of Hope School, creating warm and emotional moments of cultural exchange.

Upon arriving at FPT Complex, FPT leaders and employees warmly welcomed the Duke of Richmond and his spouse with flags, flowers, and a traditional Vietnamese dance performance.

During a tour of the iconic “bronze drum” FPT Complex campus, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phuong, Director of FPT Software Da Nang, personally introduced the modern working environment, technology development orientation, and the distinctive cultural values that define FPT.

The Duke of Richmond and his spouse showed great interest in the Cuder statue located at the lobby of the F-Complex, especially after learning about its symbolic meaning.

In an open and friendly atmosphere, the Duke expressed particular interest in the working environment, culture, and people at FPT. He and his spouse also sampled several Vietnamese specialties, notably expressing strong appreciation for fresh coconut water.

Later that afternoon, the Duke of Richmond and his spouse visited Hope School, where they rang the bell to begin a heartfelt exchange session.

The Duke and his spouse were presented with traditional Vietnamese gifts by the students, including conical hats, khăn rằn scarves, and lotus flowers, all reflecting rich cultural identity.

Students of Hope School, dressed in traditional costumes representing various Vietnamese ethnic groups, performed folk songs, melodic singing, and a lively traditional “trống cơm” dance.

Following the performances, the Duke toured the library, living areas, and dormitories. At each stop, he attentively listened to the students sharing their daily lives, studies, and future aspirations.

Notably, the Duke showed great enjoyment in tasting cookies handmade by the students. A hands-on soap-making activity also brought much joy, as he observed, asked questions, and expressed admiration for the students’ creativity and craftsmanship.

Before departing Hope School, the Duke and his spouse signed a commemorative painting and presented trays of sweet oranges as gifts to the teachers and students.

The farewell was filled with warmth and affection, as students waved goodbye with bright smiles, closing a meaningful visit that left lasting impressions and heartfelt memories.
