The University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver), one of the leading public research universities in the U.S. state of Colorado, has officially introduced the first Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Vietnam with a focus on digital management thinking, following CU Denver’s standardized U.S. curriculum. The program is implemented in partnership with the FPT School of Business & Technology (FSB) under FPT Corporation.
After a rigorous evaluation process assessing academic credibility, training capacity, and international program delivery, FPT became CU Denver’s sole partner in Vietnam and one of its first collaborators in Asia.
Since the world’s first MBA program was introduced at Harvard Business School in 1908, U.S. business education has become the global benchmark for leadership and management development. With academic excellence, a strong corporate network, and worldwide reputation, U.S. MBA programs have set the standard for nurturing strategic thinking and global leadership capabilities.

According to the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) 2024, MBA graduates in the U.S. earn an average starting salary of around US$120,000, nearly double that of bachelor’s degree holders — and at top schools, this can reach US$170,000. Today, an MBA from an American university remains a prestigious “career passport,” offering pathways to advancement, global connections, and influence in international business environments.
Through its collaboration with FPT, CU Denver extends its legacy of delivering world-class business education, enabling Vietnamese learners to access an authentic international MBA program within Vietnam while connecting with CU Denver’s global academic–corporate network and FPT’s innovation ecosystem. Graduates will receive an MBA degree granted by CU Denver, recognized by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training, and equivalent in value to degrees earned in the U.S.
For the first intake scheduled in December 2025, the program offers special tuition incentives and scholarships, allowing students to save significantly on costs compared to studying directly in the U.S., while maintaining identical academic and quality standards.

According to Professor Scott Dawson, Dean of the CU Denver Business School: “We see in FPT a shared philosophy — viewing education as a driver of economic development. That’s why CU Denver chose Vietnam, and chose FPT — a partner with shared vision and proven execution capacity.”

The Colorado Denver MBA program emphasizes applied learning, combining case studies, management simulations, real-world projects, and expert-led seminars with business executives, technology leaders, and investors. This structure enables academic knowledge to translate into measurable organizational outcomes — from improved performance to innovation.
Dr. Nguyen Viet Thang, Dean of the FPT School of Business & Technology (FSB), shared: “We apply a practical training approach — a hallmark of FSB’s MBA programs — bringing U.S.-standard education to Vietnam and equipping learners to apply management knowledge directly in their organizations and lead digital transformation effectively.”
According to Professor Andrey Mikhailitchenko, Associate Dean of CU Denver Business School, the Vietnam MBA program follows a franchise model, ensuring that students in Vietnam receive the same curriculum, learning materials, teaching methods, and academic standards as those studying at CU Denver in the United States.

The program is taught entirely in English by faculty from CU Denver and experienced professors, PhDs, and business experts from FPT University. Its flexible learning schedule allows professionals to balance study and work.
The Colorado Denver MBA is expected to cultivate a new generation of Vietnamese leaders — globally minded, technologically adept, and capable of driving organizational transformation in the digital era. It provides Vietnamese learners with access to cutting-edge management foundations, strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and innovation — all essential attributes of modern global leaders.
