FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh: "Companies Need to Excel and Innovate"

Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, emphasized, "There must be two things to do to make an organization roar like a tiger: excel in traditional tasks and embrace innovation." Mr. Binh, who heads FPT, shared his insights at the ceremony commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Hanoi Young Entrepreneurs Movement on September 28, 2023.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh served as the Chairman of the Youth Entrepreneurs Council of Vietnam (1998-2001) and the Chairman of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association (VYEA), Batch I (2002-2005), being among the first-generation entrepreneurs who founded the Hanoi Young Business Association (HanoiBA).

During the commemoration event, Mr. Truong Gia Binh engaged in the discussion themed "The New Leaders - Taking New Actions" alongside Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phu, Chairman of Sunhouse Corporation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tra My, CEO of Pan Group, and Mr. Tran Anh Vuong, Chairman of King Invest Corporation.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh shared insights on "The New Leaders - Taking New Actions" during the event commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Hanoi Young Business Movement.

Addressing the new actions of business leaders, Mr. Truong Gia Binh asserted, "Every business that wants to thrive must do something new. The leaders must repeat answering three questions: How will the market change in the future? What actions do competitors take? What do customers desire? Those questions will lead to a renewed mindset: What is our position? How should we transform our technology application? How should our staff members change to adapt?".

According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, business leaders must constantly engage in strategic thinking and innovation. Furthermore, they must serve as role models. Additionally, new leaders should possess both new thinking and actions and a strong desire to transform their businesses into powerful entities, contributing to the development of a mighty nation. Mr. Binh stated, "The world's market, labor force, and capital also belong to you - the business owners. The key is what you have to integrate and create value for your customers and partners."

Leaders from FPT Corporation, Sunhouse Corporation, Pan Group, and others shared their views on the theme of "The New Leaders - Taking New Actions."

Moreover, the Chairman of FPT highlighted the importance for business owners to focus on applying new technologies such as AI and data in management and operations. Mr. Truong Gia Binh asked: "What are the potential uses of technologies like Chat GPT? How can digital technology increase labor productivity and attract new customers? How does it contribute to workforce training and enhancing the value-added of each individual to meet the business growth and propel the development of the economy, especially in the context of the shrinking golden population era?"

In Mr. Truong Gia Binh's narrative, FPT began with no capital and experience, relying solely on the passion of its founding team to gradually rise. "Success does not come naturally, and sacrifices must be made. We have worked for decades without a day off. Can you do the same things? Are you ready to pay the price and to head up your staff facing challenges to go global? The country awaits Vietnamese businesses to expand in a vast global market. The future lies in the hands of new leaders", he concluded.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh also expressed his confidence in the bright future of the young entrepreneurs movement. "Previously, entrepreneurs were proud of domestic achievements, but now it is time to drive it to regional and global scale. In the next five to ten years, the movement and the HanoiBA will generate more USD billionaires and millionaires".

The HanoiBA gathers dedicated young entrepreneurs in Hanoi with the motto "Uniting Entrepreneurs, Elevating Values," fulfilling the mission of "Giving wings to the Hanoi Young Entrepreneurs." Established 30 years ago, the HanoiBA has over 3,000 members with 20 affiliated clubs, generating a total revenue of 150,000 billion VND and 110,000 jobs. It has become the home for many successful generations of young entrepreneurs in Hanoi and Vietnam.
