E-Ticket System for Vietnam Railways ranked in Top 10 Sao Khue Awards 2016

On the 26th of April, the FPT IS e-Ticket System for Vietnam Railways (VNR) was selected as one of the Top 10 Sao Khue Award winners for 2016. This is the first year that the Top 10 Sao Khue Awards have been presented to outstanding products and services determined by revenue, market share, customers and socio-economic efficiency.

The FPT IS e-Ticket System was highly praised for its practical benefits for VNR, facilitating ticket distribution, applying high-technology solutions to enhance VNR’s business efficiency and capabilities and improving the rail travel experience.

According to Bui Thanh Binh, Director of transportation solution center under FPT IS, more than 15 million tickets were sold via the system, since the launch on November 21, 2014. Such features as website, e-ticketing, mobile app help people buy tickets anytime, anywhere. FPT is implementing few more features in order to improve the passenger experience such as information devices (LED panel board and TV), point system and support system for dealer network.

Besides the e-Ticket System, two other FPT services were honored at the 2016 Sao Khue Awards, software outsourcing of FPT Software (also one of the Top 10 Sao Khue Awards) and IT Education by FPT University.

The Award has been held annually by VINASA since 2003 under the backing of the Ministry of Information and Communications. The award recipients, which included 56 products and 17 services, were picked from among the 81 nominations by software enterprises after three rounds of serious examination and evaluation. This is the first year that the Top 10 Sao Khue Awards have been presented to 10 best products and services based on their revenues, trade names, market shares, clientele and socio-economic efficiency for the first time ever. Top 10 reached the total revenue of USD 240 million, accounting for 17% of revenues in software industry. The ceremony took place on April 23 in Hanoi.
