In his opening remarks, Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, CEO of EVN, stated: “EVN and FPT have maintained a cooperative relationship for many years. FPT has implemented numerous projects across EVN’s member units, all of which have delivered positive results after going into operation. Currently, EVN is recognized as one of the leading state-owned enterprises in digital transformation, with a score exceeding 81 based on the evaluation framework of the former Ministry of Science and Technology. However, as countries in the region and around the world are advancing rapidly, we still have much to do to further enhance our digital capabilities and modern governance. Therefore, immediately following today’s signing ceremony, the leadership of both Groups will direct their respective departments to review and prioritize cooperation areas that can be implemented promptly, leveraging each party’s strengths to deliver tangible results in practice.”

Trương Gia Bình, Chairman of FPT, emphasized: “Never before has the requirement to master core technologies been as clear and urgent as it is today, especially in the context of Resolution 57-NQ/TW and Resolution 79-NQ/TW of the Politburo, which set out very specific requirements for the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Today’s cooperation is not symbolic—it is about real action, joint investment, and shared responsibility. The key is to define major challenges and then translate them into concrete tasks: who does what, within what timeframe, with what resources, and what specific outcomes are expected. For FPT, the power sector has held a special position since our early days, and we deeply value our long-standing partnership with EVN throughout various stages of national development. We must aim for global standards and excellence.”

Under the agreement, EVN and FPT will closely collaborate in researching, applying, and mastering core technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and blockchain. These technologies will be leveraged to address technical and management challenges specific to the power sector, spanning generation, transmission, distribution, customer service, and system operations.
A key focus of the partnership is the development of data platforms and digital infrastructure to support the management of power plants, power grids, and EVN’s enterprise operations. The two sides will also develop smart grid solutions, load forecasting systems, power distribution optimization, anomaly detection, and energy-saving solutions using advanced AI models. Notably, FPT will work with EVN to enhance and upgrade existing core systems, particularly ERP systems and their surrounding applications.
The two organizations will also collaborate on developing an intelligent energy management system, enabling real-time monitoring of electricity consumption by region, early detection of anomalies, reduction of power losses, and provision of optimization recommendations for businesses and households—while strictly complying with regulations on personal data protection and information security.
In telecommunications, cybersecurity, and system security, EVN and FPT will coordinate to share technical infrastructure for disaster prevention and incident response. They will also deploy multi-layered security solutions for operational technology (OT) and SCADA systems, conduct cybersecurity drills, assess risks, and strengthen resilience against increasingly complex threats.
In parallel, both parties will prioritize the training and development of digital talent through training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives on technology management, human resource management, and the application of technology in training and operations—contributing to the development of a high-quality workforce for the power sector during its transformation phase.
The cooperation agreement also opens pathways for developing an innovation-driven energy value chain, from research and development (R&D) and pilot testing to real-world deployment, while fostering in-depth R&D capabilities in digital energy technologies and AI within the power sector.
The establishment of a long-term strategic partnership between EVN and FPT is not only aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, competitiveness, and mastery of core technologies, but also at a broader goal: building a modern, intelligent, and sustainable technology–energy ecosystem, making meaningful contributions to socio-economic development and the national digital transformation journey.
