The registration deadline for S.M.A.C Challenge 2015 will be extended to September 25 to help students with the love of technology have more time for preparation and then increase the chance to win the prize worth up to VND 250 million.

By the end of August 31, nearly 100 students from universities and colleges across the country have registered for S.M.A.C Challenge 2015. There are much more candidates from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Technology, Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, Military Technical Academy, FPT University, University of Natural Sciences.

"FPT wants to support young people to access new technology trends, nurture their passion for information technology. FPT expects to unveil students with programming capacity and understanding of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, Cloud and give them more opportunities to develop further on this path," stated Chief Technology Officer Nguyen Lam Phuong.

A representative of the organizers explained that many students sent feedback about the deadline. Time was so tight that it was difficult to fold up ideas and prepare human resources. Therefore, the Organizers decided to extend the registration deadline to September 25.

Themed "Digitizing voice", SMAC Challenge 2015 becomes the first contest in Vietnam to search and develop interactive voice response (IVR) ideas. The total prize is worth VND 250 million (including cash and in kind). In addition, the contest also gives contestants a lot of career opportunities in the field of new technologies and increases the chances that they will get funding from FPT Ventures for their projects.

SMAC Challenge is an annual app-writing competition for the youth organized by FPT Corporation. After 2 years, the contest has attracted thousands of youths in Hanoi. In 2015, FPT will expand the contest nationwide. The contest is sponsored by HP Vietnam (Silver Sponsor) and Asus Vietnam (Bronze Sponsor).

In 2014, the team FU-Agile (FPT University) won the first prize. Earlier, in 2013, SRC PTIT from the Institute of Posts and Telecommunications became the champion of the first season.
