FPT IS and Metrodata Electronics, a leading IT firm in Indonesia, recently formalized their partnership by signing a cooperation agreement to establish a joint venture named PT FPT Metrodata Indonesia (FMI). This collaboration aims to focus on developing cutting-edge cybersecurity, AI, and Cloud solutions, with the vision of positioning Indonesia as a leader in digital transformation and AI within Southeast Asia.

Indonesia is rapidly emerging as one of the fastest-growing digital economies in Southeast Asia, with projections indicating it could become the region's most prominent digital economy by 2030. Under the recent cooperation agreement, FPT IS and Metrodata Electronics have established a joint venture named PT FPT Metrodata Indonesia (FMI) to capitalize on new opportunities and jointly invest in research and development of advanced technology services. This joint venture will initially focus on cybersecurity solutions, a critical component of Indonesia's digital economy, before expanding into cloud computing, AI services, and the development of software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions tailored to the Indonesian market. The venture aims to achieve revenue of 100 million USD within the next five years.

Initially, PT FPT Metrodata Indonesia (FMI) will concentrate on developing core cybersecurity services, including: Security Operations Center (SOC); Security Management Services; Security Professional Services; Security Consulting & Advisory; Security Incident Monitoring & Detection.

FMI plans to establish a new SOC model that enhances its monitoring services for diverse customer profiles using SIEM (Security Information and Event Management). This multi-dimensional solution will enable organizations to proactively address cybersecurity threats before they impact operations, making it particularly suitable for medium-sized enterprises. This initiative aligns with Indonesia's Personal Data Protection (PDP) law and the increasing demand for cybersecurity monitoring services. FMI aims to develop and launch a product tailored to the Indonesian mid-market within 12 months by leveraging FPT IS's robust security capabilities, particularly the FPT.EagleEye technology solution suite, FMI seeks to optimize costs associated with enterprise management services.
