Yesterday, for the first time in Vietnam, nearly 100 IT enterprises and two leading consultants QAI Global participated in CMMI 2.0 Conference & Automation in Quality Management.

CMMI 2.0 Conference & Automation in Quality Management is organized by FPT Software with the aim of introducing enterprises about CMMI for Development 2.0 model. The next generation of CMMI Model, known as CMMI Version 2.0, was launched in March 2018. Vietnam is also one of the first countries to access CMMI 2.0 through this conference.

CMMI 2.0 will help enterprises dramatically improve performance by building and maintaining capabilities in critical areas such as developing products and technology, business management, planning and job management, supplier selection and management, quality assurance, and workforce management.

This is also one of the activities of FPT Software to share experience and help IT companies in Vietnam with production process by CMMI in order to improve the quality and the productivity of software development.

CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) is considered a a hall pass for IT companies to participate in the global software service supply chain, helping enterprises improve product quality with professional production process. It is imperative software businesses upgrade CMMI in order to meet the changing needs.

As a pioneer in CMMI application as well as other international quality standards, in 2002, FPT Software was the first company in Southeast Asia to achieve CMMI level 4 certification.  At now, getting CMMI 5 v1.3 certification - the highest level puts FPT Software on the list of about 150 companies and organizations globally with software development processes at the highest levels of maturity recognized by CMMI.

According to Nguyen Hoang Quy Thien, Technology Team Leader at FQC.SEPG, FPT Software, it is important for enterprises to make a specific plan when implementing CMMI. They need to understand CMMI fully, assign high-qualified employees to implement projects by CMMI standards and monitor closely. In addition, both of clients' requirements and CMMI standards must be carefully considered so that there are no interruptions or difficulties in the implementation process.
