Forbes Vietnam has released its third annual list of the 40 most valuable brands in Vietnam, putting their total value at USD8.1 billion. The value is more than 30 percent up from last year.
FPT is the only tech brand in Top ten, the majority of which consumer goods and finance and banking brands account for. Forbes estimates FPT’s brand value at USD 169 million.
For the third time Forbes Vietnam has published a list of the 40 most valuable company brands in Vietnam.
Forbes Vietnam prepared the list based on using the Forbes assessment measure, which is to calculate the contribution of the brand to a company’s business efficiency. The most valuable brands are those with the largest revenues in the industries in which the brands play a key role.
After establishing a list of 80 branded companies, Forbes Vietnam along with Vietnam Capital Securities (VCSC) calculated revenue before tax, and evaluated the companies’ intangible assets. Information was gathered from companies’ financial reports as well as data available on stock markets. Unlisted companies have also provided financial documents to Forbes for assessment and evaluation.
Besides the list of the 40 most valuable brands in Vietnam, Forbes Vietnam also listed FPT among the 50 best listed firms. FPT is considered to play a leading role in technology in Vietnam.
FPT has been listed among the 50 best listed firms for 6 years in a row.
The list has been compiled to provide information on companies with outstanding business results and high profits for investors. Besides this, it is also to honor and encourage the spirit entrepreneurialism.
Vietnam’s 50 top listed companies for 2018 account for 70.8 per cent of total market capitalization on the HCM and Hà Nội stock exchanges. The 50 listed companies on the two stock exchanges have recorded a combined total profit of nearly VND107 trillion, a yearly increase of 34 per cent.
FPT is listed among 18 companies which have been honored for six years in a row in the period 2013-2018.
