FPT achieves new record

With 15 students passing the brain power test, FPT University (FU) was officially recognized "the first university with the most students to get Memory Grand Master certificates" by Vietnam record Organization.

 

On August 29, the 30th meeting of Vietnamese Record Holders took place at 272 Conference Center, 272 Vo Thi Sau Street, District 3, HCMC. 

 

Vietnam record organization announced 28 new records including 11 ones for units and 17 ones for individuals. In particular, FPT University was the only education institution to be honored with the title of "the first university with the most students to get Memory Grand Master certificates".

 

 

According to Vietkings CEO Mr. Le Tran Truong An, FU was the leading innovative technology university in Vietnam and its taking "Journey to discover brain power" into the curriculum was very meaningful to students. He hoped FPT University students would pick up the valuable experiences of Dr.  Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury - general director of Asia Record Organization (ARO), the Guinness record holder for memory feats.

 

The Vietkings CEO also expected that Dr. Nguyen Hong Phuong, FPT University's Academics Director would continue to further develop memory training programs. 

 

As the Guinness record holder for memory feats, Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury initiated brain training programs in Vietnam and worldwide. He believed that the majority of FPT University students could memorize more than 50 numbers, and even up to 200 numbers. This was one of the leading universities to successfully apply the memory technique and he expected that other universities would also do this.

 

"I am very proud of my excellent student, Dr. Nguyen Hong Phuong. She not only uses memory training skills for herself but also teaches them to her students, helping apply them to their learning and life," said Mr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury.

Understanding the significance and importance of the memory training, Dr. Nguyen Hong Phuong brought the training program named "Boost brain power" to FU students. She organized many long-term programs to spread memorization skills and develop thinking skills for students.

 

Earlier this year, FPT University, Bimemo and Dynamic Memory jointly organized the brain power exam for FU students. Three months later, 15 out of 25 attendants passed the test and achieved Grand Master Memory certificates.

"I feel really satisfied and proud of this achievement. In September, FU will implement "Discover brain power" for all freshmen in HCMC and Hanoi. I hope that FU students will go on practicing more in order to individual records", stated Dr. Nguyen Hong Phuong.

 

Earlier, at the 29th meeting of Vietnamese Record Holders on 22 November 2014 in HCMC, FPT University gained a record "The largest group singing the national anthem on top of Fansipan".

 

From September 2014, FPT University has put "Boost brain power" into the training program of the orientation week for freshmen. Students learn how to study and work effectively. This activity aims to equip students with necessary skills to achieve the best results in the next 4 years.
