FPT among 10 Prominent Companies with Technological Ability in Industry 4.0

The Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) held the announcement ceremony for the list ‘Vietnam’s 50+10 Leading IT Companies 2018’ and a special publication on them on September 17 in Hanoi. FPT was among Vietnam’s 50 leading IT companies and 10 prominent companies with technology ability in Industry 4.0.

Most of the Top 50 firms have not only focused on business results but also paid attention to investment into new technologies as well as participated into digital transformation and applied advanced technologies to meet with society demands.

FPT is considered as the leading company in the field of software export, system integration, IT services, technology product distribution in Vietnam and a pioneer in digital transformation. In FY2017, FPT's revenue from digital transformation hit a growth rate of over 50% and accounted for 21% of the total revenue. In fact, since 2012, FPT has pioneered researching and developing new technologies: big data, cloud computing, mobility... At the same time, FPT has quickly invested in resources and partnered with many giants with the powerful technology platforms of the digital revolution to develop digital transformation solutions namely GE (Predix platform), Siemens (MinSphere platform), Airbus (jointly develop Skywise - an open data technology platform in the aviation sector), Amazon Web Services etc.

FPT and Carlsberg have recently signed a global framework contract whereupon FPT has officially become Carlsberg’s technology partner, providing Information Technology (IT) as well as Digital Transformation (DT) services for the global brewer.  The two sides also planned to explore additional areas in Digital Transformation including Smart Brewery, Cloud Migration to Azure, Open API platform, Data strategy and analytics.

FPT considers research and development activities as the foundation for digital transformation with three main objectives: develop new products, have new capabilities and explore new technologies.

Self-driving is one of the most cutting-edge technologies FPT has been focusing on. The explosion of artificial intelligence makes many of the world's leading automakers invest in self-driving cars. Software plays the most important role in developing self-driving cars. FPT aims at USD200 million in revenue in the automotive sector, including software, design (CAD), analysis (CAE), and IC design. In terms of human resources, the number of engineers in this field will reach 8,000 people. Currently, FPT is implementing a number of projects related to self-driving car technology in particular and automobiles in general for about 40 major corporations around the world.

At the same time, FPT has made great strides in building the technology community by holding large scale technology events with the participation of the world's top 4.0 experts; offering the opportunity to experience the latest technology solutions such as FP Tech Day, Vietnam AI Hackathon, Code Fights etc.

According to FPT CTO Le Hong Viet, FPT aims at becoming one of the world's leading companies in digital transformation services and top-level partner of the corporations owning IoT technology platforms. The average annual rate of growth is expected to reach 50-70%.
