FPT appoints new CIO

Accordingly, he will concurrently take on the new role within 3 years from February 15, 2017 to February 14, 2020. The appointment aims to standardize the tasks related to information systems and digital transformation of the Corp.

Newly-appointed CIO will be in charge of using information resources effectively for development goals and helping with IT application strategies, policies and plans in FPT and its member companies. Besides implementing approved IT systems and applications, he also builds process and guideline for management of IT systems and proposes as well as directs the establishment of IT standards and regulations.

According to FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh, this appointment aims to standardize the tasks related to information systems and digital transformation and elevate the position of FPT. Thus, the organizational structure of FPT Corporation is relatively complete when two positions Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) were filled.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Viet was born in 1969 in Ha Tinh. He joined FPT in 2006 as the Head of FPT Information Management Department. He and his colleagues have developed network intrusion prevention systems and ensure the security of critical systems; conducting periodic security reviews; using pen-source solutions to develop systems in FPT and its member companies etc.

The Board of Management of FPT Corporation includes CEO Bui Quang Ngoc, three Deputy General Directors Do Cao Bao, Duong Dung Trieu, Nguyen The Phuong (cum CFO). The directors are COO Hoang Viet Ha, CTO Le Hong Viet and CIO Nguyen Xuan Viet.

At the request of FPT CEO Bui Quang Ngoc, all member companies should appoint CIO position in 2017, in order to improve the leadership. So far, FPT Software appointed Do Van Khac as CIO (cum CQO); FPT Online appointed Nguyen Loc Vu as CIO (cum Director of Technical Center); FPT Retail appointed Nguyen Quoc Luc as CIO (cum CTO).

The first CIO of FPT Corporation is CEO Bui Quang Ngoc (concurrently serving as the Deputy General Director of FPT at that time). In 2005, he was awarded the title as one of top 10 Indochina CIOs by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in cooperation with International Data Group IDG.
