FPT Chairman: "Considering DX vital, Vietnam will progress very quickly"

“Digital economy and digital transformation are vital and accompanied by prosperity under coronavirus pandemic influence. Vietnam will be a potential digital destination as the country has young human resources, being among the top digital countries in the world and setting the policy framework which promotes digital economy and digital transformation”, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, VINASA's chairman and FPT Chairman spoke at the opening session of the Conference on "Digital Economy, Digital Transformation in Vietnam and the EVFTA”.
Also within the framework of the event, Mr. Binh and other speakers from the European Union Delegation to Vietnam (The EUD), EuroCham and other government agencies attended the discussion session themed “Vietnam Digital Economy and the EVFTA: Potential Impact, Prioritized Policies, and Actions to Maximize its Benefits”. Mr. Binh said that when facing a vital challenge, Vietnamese businesses become knit together and know the importance of digital transformation. “However, most of them do not understand its essence. That's a big deal, and we really need leading businesses. Considering digital transformation vital, Vietnam will progress very quickly”, added he.
FPT Chairman Mr. Truong Gia Binh spoke at the opening session of the Conference on "Digital Economy, Digital Transformation in Vietnam and the EVFTA”.
About the digital transformation at FPT, Mr. Binh stated that the most important component of digital transformation is the human. It is necessary to train everyone to use digital technologies, even to become an excellent IT engineer. He believed that the EVFTA would bring great benefits to Vietnam's digital economy and the national digital transformation process.
From the perspective of state management agencies, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Technology (Ministry of Information and Communications) Nguyen Trong Duong stated that the EVFTA provided more diversified market opportunities, which would help businesses recover and regain growth momentum. The agreement also created an open and more favorable investment environment, and a more attractive export outlook and higher opportunities to attract FDI.
"Digital Economy, Digital Transformation in Vietnam and the EVFTA” is the second roundtable conference in a series of 3 roundtable conferences hosted by the European Union Delegation to Vietnam (The EUD). The event attracted more than 100 delegates come from ministries, government agencies, EU member states as well as associations, institutions and businesses in Vietnam.

In recent years, Vietnam's digital economy has made great strides, making Vietnam the second fastest-growing market in Southeast Asia after Indonesia. The digital economy in Vietnam is expected to benefit from the EVFTA and the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.
