FPT Brings Joy to Children in Quang Ngai's Mountainous Areas for New School Year Celebration

On August 20, in Quang Ngai, the FPT People Fund for Community and the Hope Foundation (operated by FPT and VnExpress) partnered with the Trade Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) to organize a charity program. The event included handing over the "Renovation" project to five schools and donating equipment and facilities to the local Center for Children with Disabilities.

Key figures, including Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Linh, CEO of FPT Telecom; Mr. Huynh Tan Chau, Director of FPT Education in Da Nang; Mr. Vu Van Dong, Director of FPT Software Quy Nhon; and Ms. Nguyen Xuan Tu, CEO of the Hope Foundation, participated in the event, along with numerous leaders and representatives from various FPT subsidiaries.

As part of the "School Renovation" project, FPT funded the repairing and painting of five schools in Son Ha district, Quang Ngai province. This initiative is designed to upgrade the schools' appearance and enhance the learning environment, ensuring students return for the 2024-2025 academic year to newly renovated, cleaner, and safer facilities. The total contribution for this project is 150 million VND.

Additionally, FPT donated teaching equipment, two TVs, and 150 gifts to students. The Corporation also awarded "Wings to Dream" scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds to support their educational advancement.

FPT CEO Nguyen Van Khoa remarked at the program, "Over the past 36 years, FPT has consistently prioritized community support, especially for children and students in challenging areas. With over 80% of its students being ethnic minorities, Lang Re School may have a small student body, but it plays a crucial role in nurturing the future generation of our country. I hope that through the contributions of our employees, we can help these students overcome obstacles and feel the warmth and support that FPT offers today."

In addition to renovating schools in Quang Ngai, FPT, in collaboration with the Trade Union of the MOST, donated equipment and facilities to the Vo Hong Son Center for Children with Disabilities.

Representing Quang Ngai were Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. From the Trade Union of the MOST, attendees included Mr. Ha Quoc Trung, Chairman, and Mr. Do Xuan Ngoc, Standing Vice Chairman.

With a total contribution of over 100 million VND, FPT aims to enhance learning conditions for students with disabilities, enabling them to access better education and create new opportunities for community integration. This meaningful gift not only provides material support but also offers motivation and hope to children as they overcome challenges.

During the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, FPT supported Quang Ngai through the "Computers for Children" program initiated by the Hope Foundation. The Corporation provided 100 computer sets to disadvantaged students, ensuring they could continue their studies uninterrupted during periods of social distancing.
