Representatives from FPT Corporation, led by CEO Nguyen Van Khoa, met with the People's Committee of Ca Mau Province on April 13, 2023, to propose a collaboration on education and digital transformation.
Attending the event from Ca Mau Province were the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet, and representatives from various departments and sectors. In addition, FPT was represented by CEO Nguyen Van Khoa, Chief of Marketing & Communications Vo Dang Phat, and representatives from subsidiaries.
FPT CEO Nguyen Van Khoa proposed cooperation with the People's Committee of Ca Mau Province to promote training and digital transformation.
On behalf of the People's Committee of Ca Mau Province's leaders, Chairman Huynh Quoc Viet stated that Ca Mau got both advantages and difficulties with its three coastal sides and geographic location at the southernmost point. The province hoped to attract investors to help with infrastructure development, particularly by enhancing the workforce and retaining talent.
In response, FPT CEO Nguyen Van Khoa expressed his belief that Ca Mau had great potential for development, so becoming a technology service center would be a significant breakthrough. Mr. Khoa also emphasized FPT's suggestion to invest in a high-quality, comprehensive education and vocational education system in Ca Mau. If the market demand is sufficient, FPT will establish FPT Ca Mau University and focus on training majors tailored to local needs.
Currently, FPT has 60,000 employees, mainly operating in three sectors: technology, education, and telecommunications. The total number of students enrolled in FPT's education systems is 140,000, from primary to university levels. FPT is present in 29 countries and territories and brought in one billion USD from foreign markets in 2022, all based on its intellectual property. The Corporation aims to reach a milestone of 1 million employees and for Vietnam to become a global hub of technology services by 2035. "That's why the strategy to build FPT's education system nationwide is crucial to create resources for localities, for FPT, and to motivate overall development," Mr. Khoa affirmed.
An overview of the meeting
FPT's CEO stated that the Corporation aimed to identify vital points in Project 06 (a project to develop data applications on population, identification, and electronic authentication to serve the national digital transformation from 2022 to 2025, with a vision toward 2030) to advise and consult with provincial leaders and departments, mobilize resources and business participation to bring value to the people.
Citizens will be able to get access to the population data system and make cashless payments. Meanwhile, FPT will support the government in close collaboration with enterprises to share difficulties and resolve obstacles. "We believe that even the digital transformation in digital economy applications is a difference and that such actions will significantly elevate businesses," Mr. Khoa said.
With the development of Ca Mau, especially with the Government's Resolution on promoting digital transformation as the foundation of national development, FPT will invest heavily in resources and sustainable development to attract large investors from Vietnam and internationally to Ca Mau.
During the meeting, representatives of FPT subsidiaries and the local departments shared information and explored opportunities for cooperation.
Recognizing FPT's desire to invest in local education infrastructure, Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet, Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee, assigned specific tasks for departments to discuss and propose particular plans as soon as possible. In the future, FPT and Ca Mau will continue to promote digital transformation in the spirit of the meeting.
