FPT discusses cooperation opportunities with Yongin, the Korean city preparing to build the world's largest chip manufacturing center

Recently, in order to promote economic cooperation between Vietnamese and Korean enterprises, and support companies in Yongin to expand their markets abroad, the Yongin City Government organized a meeting with representatives of Vietnamese and Korean enterprises at the City Hall's video conference room.

The event was attended by First Deputy Mayor Ryu Gwang-yeol and local officials, representatives of Vietnamese and Korean enterprises such as FPT, Doobee Computing, FireZero, AJ2 and ThinkEye ...

At the meeting, FPT and Yongin City leaders and representatives of enterprises discussed cooperation opportunities in the fields of IT, semiconductors, and digital transformation in the Vietnamese and Korean markets.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT, and representatives of member companies met with First Deputy Mayor Ryu Gwang-yeol and leaders of Korean businesses at Yongin City Hall.

Yongin City is currently the city with the strongest technological development speed in Korea with investment in industrial parks such as the semiconductor industrial park, the national industrial park, and the Korean government plans to invest 500,000 billion won (372.86 billion USD) to turn Yongin into a global chip manufacturing base. In addition, the city also implements export subsidizing projects, helping small and medium-sized enterprises to strengthen their global networks and access to international markets.

Entering the Korean market in 2016, FPT has established offices in Seoul and Daegu, with a workforce of more than 300 technology experts working directly in Korea and more than 2,500 global engineers specializing in this market. FPT currently provides technology solutions and services to leading enterprises in many fields such as LG Electronics, LG CNS, Shinsegae I&C and Shinhan Bank ….

In 2024, FPT recorded a revenue growth of more than 60% in the Korean market, notably solutions for the automotive sector, SAP, ERP and low-code services. As a global technology corporation, FPT aims to develop a technology ecosystem revolving around 05 pillars: Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductors, Automotive Software Engineering (ASE), digital transformation, and green transformation.
