FPT donates VND 200 million to children in the flooded area of Dien Bien Province

On September 5, 2015, FPT staff in collaboration with the Department of Education & Training organized the program named "Back to school” for children in flooded area, Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province.

 

With the desire to alleviate the difficulties after flood and encourage children before a new school year begins, FPT employees donated 2 bookcases, 6 computers, nearly 500 sets of uniforms, shoes, school supplies and 200kg of rice and hundreds of books, clothes and food to students at 4 schools in heavily damaged area of the province including Na Tong Primary School, Nam Muc Primary School, An Binh kindergarten and Sao Mai kindergarten.

 

The total value of gifts is estimated at nearly VND 200 million. The program is one of activities FPT has deployed for the community in 2015 in order to help disaster victims overcome difficulties and rebuild education. In August, FPT staff also supported nearly VND 300 million for poor students in Quang Ninh province after the historic flooding in July.   

 

Earlier, at 3 am on January 08, 2015, floodwaters spread all over Tuan Giao town, Dien Bien province after Huoi Cu dam breach. The lives of the poor have got even more miserable.

 

About CSR activities of FPT Corporation:

 

FPT is the first private enterprise in Vietnam to spend one day each year - March 13 in order that all employees can make contributions to the community. On “FPT for Community” Day 2014, FPT support one day's salary to establish a fund named "FPT Staff for Community". In 2014, the fund sponsored 100 free cleft lip and palate repair surgeries to children. 2,040 units of blood were donated; 28 bookshelves were given. FPT shared difficulties with 9231 poor students nationwide.

 

In 2015, FPT’s community activities will focus on two major programs: "Give Wings to Dreams" aiming to help poor children access new knowledge with 38 bookcases and computers and “Thousands of FPT Hearts” aiming to support disaster victims.
