FPT Supports 2026 National AI Olympiad Team Selection, Provides FPT AI Factory Infrastructure

Hanoi, May 20, 2026 – FPT Corporation is accompanying the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Olympiad Team Selection Competition for the second consecutive year. Organized by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training, the competition is supported through FPT’s cloud-based examination platform powered by the GPU infrastructure of FPT AI Factory.

The opening ceremony took place at Hanoi National University of Education. This year’s competition attracted 1,188 students from 32 participating institutions nationwide (including 28 Departments of Education and Training and 4 universities) during the preliminary round. From these candidates, 246 outstanding students were selected for the national team qualification round.

The competition aims to identify eight outstanding students who will represent Vietnam at the 2026 International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), while also creating a high-quality academic platform that encourages students to develop research capabilities and creativity in AI.

FPT Provides AI Infrastructure for a National-Scale Competition

During the selection round, contestants program directly on computers to solve AI-related challenges following the framework established by the IOAI International Scientific Committee, focusing on areas such as machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, computer vision, natural language processing, and audio processing.

According to the Organizing Committee, contestants use the competition platform and GPU cloud infrastructure provided for the event. Submissions are evaluated automatically through both public and internal testing systems over a 360-minute examination period.

As an official supporting partner, FPT provides GPU cloud computing infrastructure through FPT AI Factory, meeting the computational capacity, stability, and operational requirements necessary for a national competition aligned with international standards.

FPT representatives also participate in the examination council and provide technical support, helping ensure organizational quality and maintaining the competition’s objectivity.

Accordingly, developing a sustainable AI ecosystem requires collaboration among the government, educational institutions, and businesses: universities provide foundational knowledge, while businesses bring technology into practice and create social value.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director General of the Quality Management Department under the Ministry of Education and Training, emphasized: "Developing high-quality talent in Artificial Intelligence is critically important for Vietnam’s national digital transformation and international integration process."

Representing academia, Prof. Dr. Chu Duc Trinh, President of the University of Engineering and Technology – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Chairman of the Competition Council, shared the message: "Great knowledge comes with great responsibility."

This message also reflects the spirit FPT seeks to promote through its involvement in the competition: developing technology talent should extend beyond technical capabilities and include social responsibility and the ability to solve real-world challenges.

From a technology enterprise perspective, FPT believes that close collaboration among stakeholders will help establish a practical and sustainable AI talent development ecosystem. Academic competitions such as this provide students with opportunities to access advanced technologies, strengthen problem-solving skills, and nurture aspirations to master AI in the future.
