Recently, FPT signed a long-term cooperation agreement to accelerate digital transformation, enhance productivity, and strengthen AI- and data-driven operations for a Top 10 Japanese power utility group. Accordingly, FPT will participate in deploying and consulting on cloud services, application development, and system modernization solutions to support comprehensive digital transformation initiatives of Chugoku Electric Power, including the provision of Microsoft 365 (M365) licenses for Chugoku and its member companies. According to its 2025 annual report, Chugoku operates nearly 40 subsidiaries and affiliated companies.

This long-term agreement is built upon the existing collaboration between FPT, Chugoku, and ENECOM, Chugoku’s core IT company. “This agreement reaffirms our commitment to driving innovation and modernizing IT systems for Chugoku Electric Power Group. With our experience in the Japanese market, FPT is progressively applying an ‘AI-First’ approach to accelerate legacy system transformation, improve productivity, and unlock new growth opportunities,” said Mr. Do Van Khac, Deputy CEO of FPT Software and CEO of FPT Japan, FPT Corporation. “By combining AI capabilities with expertise in cloud computing and application modernization, FPT will work with Chugoku Electric Power Group to build a flexible, future-ready digital enterprise,” he added.

“We are promoting digital transformation initiatives to enhance productivity and strengthen our AI- and data-driven operational foundation,” said Mr. Makoto Ayukawa, DX Promotion Project Leader at Chugoku Electric Power Group. “Through our collaboration with FPT, we can systematically deploy Microsoft 365, improving communication, enhancing coordination, and expanding the use of digital tools in daily operations,” he noted.

“This project also serves as a foundation for further AI and automation applications in the future. We recognize and trust FPT’s technological capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem, its understanding of operational environments, and its ability to mobilize global resources. Going forward, we will continue to work closely with FPT to drive effective digital transformation,” Mr. Makoto Ayukawa added.

M365 integrates communication tools such as Outlook and Teams, while also supporting application development and robotic process automation (RPA), thereby improving operational efficiency and enabling Chugoku to transition to a flexible, digital-first operating model.

Prior to this agreement, FPT had provided various Microsoft-related services to Chugoku, including deploying new solutions, operating helpdesk services, and configuring and implementing systems. This long-term partnership further affirms FPT’s role as an end-to-end technology partner across the Microsoft ecosystem.

The close collaboration with Chugoku Electric Power Group and ENECOM also creates opportunities for Vietnamese engineers to participate in large-scale digital transformation projects in Japan and globally.

According to Mordor Intelligence, Japan’s digital transformation market is expected to reach USD 236.48 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.93% during the forecast period (2025–2030).
