FPT Achieves U.S. Patent for Advanced Acoustic Anomaly Detection Technology

Global technology corporation FPT has been granted a United States patent for its advanced neural network technology in acoustic anomaly detection systems. Acknowledged for its exceptional originality and high practical applicability, the innovation stood out from existing concepts, enabling FPT to bypass the extensive approval procedures usually required for similar patents. This milestone expands FPT's growing portfolio of U.S. patents, reinforcing the company's commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI innovation and advancing Vietnam's position in the global AI landscape.

The patented AI model addresses a critical challenge in industrial maintenance and audio surveillance, detecting irregular sound patterns that signal equipment faults, malfunctions, or security risks. Powered by an encoder-decoder neural network trained on augmented audio features, the technology delivers accurate anomaly detection even in challenging environments with significant background noise. 

This innovative model has been deployed in FPT's Intelligent Inspection (I2) SoundAI solution, delivering tangible value across multiple industries, including manufacturing and automotive. SoundAI utilizes acoustic anomaly detection for predictive maintenance and product health inspection, helping organizations reduce reliance on manual inspections while increasing accuracy with a successful detection rate above 95%.

Earlier this year, FPT also became the first Vietnamese company to secure U.S. patents for its Neural Network Systems for Source Code Generation and Ranking, which highlights its technical expertise and leadership in global innovation. This technology is leveraged to empower FPT’s AI4Code, an AI-driven coding assistant tool, to drive enhanced employee  performance and elevate product quality for customers. FPT’s growing patent portfolio is backed by robust AI capabilities and infrastructure.
