FPT forged partnership with Bac Giang to boost semiconductor industry and digital transformation

On March 11, 2025, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province and FPT Corporation came together for a MoU signing, setting the stage for comprehensive cooperation in the semiconductor industry, science and technology, education and training, innovation, and digital transformation.

This agreement marks a significant turning point in the partnership between both sides, paving the way for enormous opportunities to uplift human resource quality and improve living standards for residents, businesses, and investors. At the same time, both parties are committed to rolling out Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW to spark breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

As part of the collaboration, FPT will team up with Bac Giang throughout its digital transformation journey, offering strategic consulting to revamp the Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a long-term vision toward 2050. The Corporation will also dive into research and investment in the semiconductor sector, set up data centers, and develop a network of primary schools and high-quality training hubs to enhance local quality of life.

Meanwhile, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province will roll out the red carpet for FPT to implement key projects by streamlining administrative procedures, sharing vital information, and ensuring solid technical infrastructure.

Commitment to fostering human resource development and digital economy

One of the top priorities of this partnership is to sharpen the quality of human resources, turning Bac Giang into a powerhouse for technology and digital economic growth. FPT will back the province by providing specialized training courses on digital technology for leaders, officials, civil servants, and public employees while offering strategic advice to boost the workforce's digital skills.

Additionally, FPT Corporation will partner up with Bac Giang to digitize management systems, create digital databases, reinforce cybersecurity, and upgrade IT infrastructure within public administrative agencies. FPT will also lend a hand to local businesses and entrepreneurs in accessing online sales platforms, leveling up their competitiveness in the fast-evolving digital economy.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Nguyen Viet Oanh, noted that Bac Giang has racked up significant achievements in recent years, standing out as one of the top provinces nationwide in digitalization and competitiveness indexes. These efforts have helped build the province's reputation and brand as a driving force for national economic growth.

"Bac Giang is now focusing on upgrading human resources, especially high-caliber talent, and pushing for broader applications of digital technologies across various fields. Since 2021, Bac Giang has teamed up with FPT to drive digital transformation and lay down digital infrastructure, achieving notable milestones. The province's industrial parks have emerged as bright spots, pulling in a growing workforce with better qualifications. But there's still a long way to go — more tech and innovation are needed to progress development. To solve the above problems, Bac Giang hopes to cooperate with FPT more effectively in the coming time," Mr. Nguyen Viet Oanh affirmed.

In response to Bac Giang's leadership, Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of FPT - emphasized: “Both sides need to sit down and hash out solutions to ramp up Bac Giang’s growth in a fast and sustainable way. Bac Giang has every potential to become a go-to hub for the semiconductor industry in the region, but it’ll take bold policies and swift action to seize that opportunity.”

Mr. Truong Gia Binh put forward solutions and development priorities such as: beefing up infrastructure, especially for transport, logistics, and human resources; crafting favorable policies and offering support for businesses, with a special focus on tech firms; zeroing in on Bac Giang’s strong suits like IT, high-tech agriculture, and cultural tourism; and making the most of Bac Giang’s prime location and highly skilled workforce.

Moreover, Mr. Truong Gia Binh stressed that to tighten and streamline the administrative system effectively, Bac Giang needs to standardize its administrative procedures, databases, and IT systems. As the province merges its apparatus, speeding up economic growth becomes a must — and embracing IT will be key to that success. FPT stands ready to pitch in, bringing in cutting-edge tech to help Bac Giang handle public administration efficiently and fuel socio-economic progress. According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Bac Giang can draw lessons from Malaysia’s PEMANDU public administration model, which has helped Malaysia become a high-income nation by 2020.
