18/11/2024

At the recent Listed Company Conference and Listed Company Awards Ceremony (VLCA) 2024, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), FPT earned recognition in two prestigious categories: Top 20 Best Annual Reports in Non-Financial Sectors and Top 10 Best Corporate Governance Enterprises.

According to the Organizing Committee's evaluation, FPT's Annual Report stands out for its clarity and readability. It features creative illustrations, well-coordinated colors, and a flexible presentation of tables and symbolic figures. The report's design reflects the Corporation's unique identity, leaving a strong impression on readers. Regarding sustainable development, FPT is one of only four large-cap companies that fully disclose their adherence to environmental protection standards in supplier selection, manufacturing, and service provision. Additionally, FPT is among just three large-cap companies with policies ensuring gender equality on the Board of Directors and has transparently disclosed the actual gender composition of its board.

After nearly six months of voting, the Voting Council reviewed over 500 listed enterprises across both exchanges and ultimately selected 44 outstanding companies in three key categories: Annual Report, Corporate Governance, and Sustainable Development Report. This recognition not only honors listed companies for their exceptional efforts in reporting, information disclosure, and adherence to regulations but also highlights their commitment to good governance practices and ESG standards. Furthermore, the awards catalyze enterprises to adopt advanced governance practices, enhance information transparency, and pursue sustainable development goals.

Annual Report: A true reflection of strategy and operations

The 2024 VLCA marks the second year of employing a system that evaluates and scores the Annual Reports of only those enterprises that register for the Annual Report Award category. This year, 96 listed enterprises registered and met the requirements, with FPT proudly securing a spot in the Top 20 Best Annual Reports in the Non-Financial Sector.

Representing FPT, Ms. Mai Thi Lan Anh, Chief Communications Officer, received the award for Top 20 Best Annual Reports in the non-financial sector.

According to the VLCA Organizing Committee, the standout feature of annual reports in the non-financial sector lies in their sustainable development initiatives, such as energy efficiency, resource management, and material reuse. These elements reflect not only the unique characteristics of each industry but also the long-term development strategies of the businesses.

In 2024, FPT made a significant stride by releasing a separate ESG Report for the first time, outlining its clear action plans and goals. The Corporation has committed to pioneering Vietnam's greenhouse gas reduction efforts, aiming for Net Zero emissions by 2040. FPT also aspires to positively impact the living, working, and learning environments of more than 1 million employees by 2035. With ESG as a cornerstone of its strategy, FPT believes that these initiatives will strengthen its ability to uphold its core values and fulfill its mission as a global corporation focused on sustainability and happiness.

Notably, FPT is among the 37.5% of enterprises preparing Annual Reports in English.

Under the theme "Ascending to New Heights, Trailblazing to Uncharted," FPT's 2023 Annual Report, published in March 2024, conveyed a clear message: FPT constantly strives to conquer new challenges and transform opportunities into tangible results.

For the fourth consecutive year, FPT simultaneously launched both PDF and Digital versions of its Annual Report, presenting information through a variety of formats such as videos, charts, graphics, illustrations, and highly interactive designs. The Digital version is creatively designed to showcase FPT's exceptional achievements in 2023, offering investors an engaging experience at every touchpoint. The PDF version, spanning more than 200 pages, highlights a cohesive narrative about FPT’s journey to surpass its previous milestones and achieve new heights. It features an intelligent dynamic table of contents that allows readers to navigate sections effortlessly and quickly access desired information.

Over the years, FPT has consistently adhered to all essential legal provisions pertaining to corporate governance, both in a general context and in adherence to regulations specific to listed companies. Concurrently, in an endeavor to elevate compliance with legal regulations on corporate governance, the Corporation has dedicated efforts to enhance the quality of governance in line with international standards. This commitment is demonstrated through the application and increasingly stringent adherence to standards outlined in the OECD's International Governance Principles, the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard, and the Vietnam Best Practice Corporate Governance Principles, the latter being published by the State Securities Commission in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

As per expert evaluations, enterprises with effective governance not only enjoy superior valuation, denoted by a heightened P/B ratio, but also attract the interest of investors, thereby amplifying opportunities to secure long-term capital from the market. Simultaneously, adept corporate governance establishes a comprehensive framework and mechanism, offering enhanced protection for the interests of both investors and stakeholders. This, in turn, contributes to ensuring sustainable development and bolstering the resilience of businesses.

The Corporation's global reputation stems from its innovative application of advanced technologies and its strong international presence, reinforcing FPT's leading position in the worldwide market.

The 2024 VLCA introduced significant changes to the scoring methodology, increasing the weight of practice-based scores to 40% (from 30% in previous years) and reducing compliance scores from 70% to 60%. This adjustment aims to encourage companies to adopt international governance practices and elevate their governance standards beyond mere compliance.

The recognized companies' commitment to improving governance and transparency not only strengthens corporate governance practices but also underscores their pivotal role in advancing the sustainable development of Vietnam's stock market. A strong focus on ESG principles and adherence to international governance standards provides a solid foundation for continued growth, enhanced reputation, and increased attention from both domestic and global investors.
