On Facebook at Work, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh announced the project related to General Electric's Predix platform between FPT and a major Japanese customer.
Predix is an operating system and platform for building applications that connect to industrial assets, collect and analyze data, and deliver real-time insights for optimizing industrial infrastructure and operations.
Accordingly, FPT will be in charge of the full life cycle implementation in order that the IoT platform runs smoothly on Predix and cloud environments.
Earlier, FPT began building IoT Platform for the customer from August 2015. At present, the system came into the market. FSU11.BU13 ODC established an Offshore Development Center (ODC) to upgrade and operate the system.
This IoT Platform currently supports majority public clouds such as Azure (Microsoft), AWS (Amazon) and K5 (Fujitsu Cloud). The customer requires FPT to develop this IoT Platform in order that it will be available on Predix. It is expected that Phase 1 of the project will be finished by the end of September this year. Then there will be many things to do.

According to Mr. Nguyen The Tan in charge of IoT/Cloud array of FSU11.BU13, for FPT Software and other companies, Predix were relatively new as the platform just came into the market. FPT Software had a small Predix project being deployed by Solution & Technology Unit. With no major obstacles, this was still not a simple project. However, with the synergy between FSU11.BU13 and CLI (Cloud Innovation), STU, Mr. Tan believed that all problems would be resolved
At the conference of “IoT go to Market”, FPT Chairman stated that IoT was a new technology bringing about effectiveness. It could be applied in aviation, transport, retail to bring about cost–effectiveness from 10% to 30%. For FPT, market and customer were considered the most important problems. Therefore, he hoped the company would find a path to occupy a special position, becoming the pioneer of the digital revolution in Vietnam and the world.
After this project, Mr. Binh asked the member companies to offer specific plans for “IoT go to Market”.
