FPT partners with Da Nang to advance semiconductor and AI development

On January 16, 2025, at the announcement ceremony for the expansion and inauguration of the Concentrated IT Park – Da Nang Software Park No. 2, FPT Corporation was honored as one of three leading technology enterprises in Vietnam to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang City. The deal focuses on investment in technology research and development, as well as workforce training in the semiconductor and AI industries, contributing to positioning Da Nang as one of Vietnam's leading technology hubs.

FPT Corporation has officially become Da Nang City's strategic partner in semiconductors and AI.

This event marks a significant milestone in enhancing Da Nang's technology infrastructure, paving the way for the growth of IT, semiconductors, and AI in the coming years. In his opening speech, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, emphasized that the Concentrated IT Zone at Da Nang Software Park plays a vital role in realizing key policies on urban governance and the city's specific development strategies, aligning with Resolution 57-NQ/TW. The initiative focuses on strategic sectors, including semiconductors, AI, and blockchain.

Reaffirming its commitment to supporting Da Nang in becoming a leading center for semiconductors and artificial intelligence in Vietnam and the region, FPT Corporation has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang City. Under Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15, the partnership aims to leverage Da Nang's potential and strengths, jointly develop initiatives and solutions for high-tech training and workforce development, and attract high-impact investments.

Specifically, FPT will collaborate with Da Nang City in researching and developing technological solutions, training human resources, offering scholarships, and providing job opportunities for students majoring in semiconductor chips and AI from training institutions in Da Nang. In addition to ongoing advancements in chip design, FPT will expand into advanced packaging and ATE testing in high-tech and duty-free zones in Da Nang. Simultaneously, the Department of Information and Communications will play a supportive role for strategic partners like FPT by facilitating investment procedures, providing site leasing support, assisting in workforce recruitment, and enabling access to the city’s preferential policies.

Currently, FPT is a pioneering corporation in chip design and commercialization in Vietnam. The Corporation is actively expanding its global partnerships in key markets such as Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan to enhance technological capabilities and develop a skilled workforce in the semiconductor industry.

In Da Nang, FPT has been present and growing for over 20 years, driving key industries such as software and IT services, education, telecommunications, and retail. Notably, FPT established the FPT Complex concentrated IT park, which was recognized by the Prime Minister in March 2023 as the first enterprise-invested concentrated IT park in Da Nang. FPT accounts for 69% of Da Nang’s total software export turnover, playing a vital role in attracting high-quality human resources from across the nation.

FPT Education in Da Nang is currently training nearly 18,000 students. Additionally, FPT is advancing innovative education through VioEdu and Violympic, with over 25,000 students—approximately 80% of the city's primary and secondary school students—engaging in learning and competitions on these platforms.
