FPT and HUST collaborate on training advanced automotive engineers

The collaboration is expected to mark a significant milestone in training high-quality human resources for the digital automotive engineering sector.
According to the cooperation agreement, FPT and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) will jointly develop a specialized Digital Automotive Engineering Program. This post-graduate program spans 1.5 years and focuses on key skills such as Autosar, embedded software, automotive mechatronics, UI/UX, ADAS, digital automotive mechanical design, CAD, CAE, and more. Upon completion, graduates will be awarded a Specialized Advanced Engineer’s Degree, equivalent to Level 7 of Vietnam’s National Qualification Framework.

At the signing ceremony, PGS. Huynh Quyet Thang, Director of HUST, emphasized: "HUST aims to transform IT engineers into true experts, driving the growth of the automotive industry. This ambition reflects not only a deep understanding of market trends but also the aspirations of our students. Our close and long-term collaboration with FPT ensures the program's quality and its participants' success."

Mr. Chu Quang Huy, Chief Human Resources Officer of FPT Corporation, stated: "Digital automotive engineering is a key focus within FPT’s AI-Chip-Automotive-Digital-Green strategic direction. Additionally, FPT will provide guidance to equip IT engineers in the program with the necessary skills to seize career opportunities in Vietnam and internationally.

This partnership unfolds as the automotive industry undergoes a transformative shift towards Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs). According to a report by "Markets and Markets," the SDV market is projected to grow from 213.5 billion USD in 2024 to 1,237.6 billion USD by 2030, with an annual growth rate of 34%. Experts from HUST estimate that Vietnam will need 30,000 engineers and developers in the automotive field over the next decade, especially in the context of the SDV trend.
