Hanoi, April 28, 2025 – Within the framework of the Vietnam–Japan Cooperation Forum on High Technology, Green Transformation, and Semiconductors, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation, stated: “Vietnam and Japan have established close cooperation, and it is essential to complement Japan with Vietnam’s talented, young, and ambitious human resources.” Also within the event framework, FPT signed a series of strategic cooperation agreements with major Japanese corporations. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
During his visit to Vietnam, Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru attended the Vietnam–Japan Cooperation Forum on High Technology, Green Transformation, and Semiconductors, organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC). Speaking at the forum, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, shared two stories. The first was about a meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, and the CEO of Japan’s leading logistics corporation, during which they discussed the desire for Vietnamese youth to become long-haul drivers in Japan, given their strength and vitality. The second was that Sumitomo Corporation and SBI Holdings—two of Japan’s leading financial and industrial groups—had decided to collaborate with FPT to build an artificial intelligence plant with NVIDIA in Japan.
From these two stories, Mr. Truong Gia Binh made a proposal: “Vietnam and Japan have established close cooperation, and it is essential to complement Japan with Vietnam’s talented, young, and ambitious human resources. We do not want the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan to remain limited to business-to-business relations; rather, we wish to elevate it further by expanding the framework to intergovernmental collaboration. Therefore, we respectfully propose that both Prime Ministers support this important cooperation initiative.”
