FPT Partners with Irish Partners to Develop Tech Talent and Advance AI Applications

During the State visit to Ireland at the invitation of President Michael D. Higgins, General Secretary and President To Lam, along with a high-level Vietnamese delegation, attended the signing of several cooperation agreements between Vietnamese and Irish universities and enterprises. Notably, FPT formalized partnerships with ADAPT Research Center at Dublin City University, ranked among the Top 50 young universities globally, and Kyndryl, a Fortune 500 company.

In the presence of General Secretary and President To Lam, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, FPT Corporation's Chairman, and Professor Cathal Gurrin, Deputy Head of the Department of Computer Science and Director of the ADAPT Center at Dublin City University, formally exchanged the Minutes of Discussion on Cooperation for Developing High-Tech Human Resources.

Specifically, FPT Corporation and the ADAPT Research Center at Dublin City University will join forces to train high-tech talent in AI. As part of this collaboration, Dublin City University will send lecturers to FPT University in Da Nang to provide AI training for students while also holding seminars to share teaching strategies with FPT's young faculty. Additionally, the university will offer PhD scholarships in AI for FPT lecturers and short-term internships for AI students.

FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh emphasized, "Developing AI is integral to FPT's future. This partnership with Dublin City University marks a new chapter in our AI engineer training. Vietnam is on the path to becoming a semiconductor hub, and AI is the future. If we have one million AI engineers, Vietnam will stand among the leading nations."

Immediately following this, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, FPT Corporation’s CEO, and Mr. Chris Davis, CEO of Kyndryl, a Fortune 500 IT infrastructure provider, signed a framework agreement for cooperation in digital transformation and AI application development. 

The signing, witnessed by General Secretary and President To Lam, outlines plans for both companies to explore AI technology and digital transformation solutions for customers in sectors such as banking, insurance, and retail in Ireland. FPT and Kyndryl have previously collaborated to expand their customer base in markets including the US, Japan, the UK, and Germany.

FPT's CEO, Nguyen Van Khoa, stated, "Our expanded collaboration with Kyndryl in the Irish market is a significant milestone in our global expansion strategy, positioning Vietnam as a technology leader. We view this as a promising market and an opportunity for FPT to showcase its capabilities and solidify its presence in Ireland and the broader European market."

FPT has established a network of offices across nine European countries and serves as a digital transformation partner for over 150 leading enterprises across various sectors. The Corporation has strengthened its market presence through strategic M&A deals, including the acquisition of RWE IT Slovakia, a member of Europe’s leading energy group RWE, and AOSIS, a French IT consulting firm.

Ireland, often dubbed the "Silicon Valley of Europe," is a leading technology hub housing major companies like Meta and Google, alongside a robust education system.

Vietnam and Ireland established diplomatic relations in 1996, with Ireland recognizing Vietnam as a critical partner in the Asia-Pacific region. Education and training are central to their bilateral cooperation. As the only English-speaking country in the EU, Ireland has a distinct advantage in attracting international students, including those from Vietnam.
