FPT invested in combination of Education – AI 38ha in Binh Dinh

On May, 8^th 2019, the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh has accepted invest policy of the combination of Education – Artificial Intelligence of FPT in Quy Nhon city with the purpose of upgrade Quy Nhon to become the AI center of the world. This is the fastest acceptance decision within almost 5 hours since the problem was proposed.

Speaking in the event, Mr. Bui Quoc Dung, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh stated that Binh Dinh decided to create a new image of Quy Nhon in a different way, meanwhile science and technology is considered as underlying for the development. Besides policies to attract investors, the province has constructed a few science urban areas with the scale of 242ha with the combination of science space and software sites, research sites, so on; held a few science conference with participation of renowned scientists in the world. Mr. Dung also impressed that “Doing science is easy in speaking but very difficult in practice. The idea of FPT that upgrade Quy Nhon to become the AI center of the world is very creative and there is enough facility to became a reality”.

Binh Dinh has resonated in the culture of mathematics lover and it always focuses on teaching the theory of mathematics. These are one of the essential factors for the development of AI – Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, the province always pay attention to potential investors in Information Technology field with the purpose of becoming the leading province in IT and upgrading skills in the Revolution 4.0.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh, The Chairman of Board of Director of FPT stated that: “Paying attention to science and technology plays a key role in motivating FPT to construct the combination of Education - Artificial Intelligent in Quy Nhon.  With the culture and the human resources that love mathematics, artificial intelligence is a distinguished point of this Combination, contributed to upgrade Quy Nhon to become the AI center of the world”

The combination with scale of 38ha is planned to carry out in the period from 2019 – 2025. Meanwhile, first period is carried out from 2019 – 2021 with scale of 6ha. After the operation, The Combination of Education – Artificial Intelligence of FPT will become center providing hi-tech human resources, especially AI for Middle South of Vietnam specifically and for the country in general, contributed to make Vietnamese Intelligence the world landmark. FPT also plans to spend 10 scholarships in Master and Ph.D. for Binh Dinh to motivate to develop high quality human resources of AI for the province.

With the emerge of The Combination including training, AI research and software production, FPT wants to create a practical environment for the young to learn and apply into practice in the software industry and AI whilst studying in the university, then become enriched knowledge, with high-skilled and practically experienced human resources and they are able to catch up with the speed of development of community in 4.0 Revolution.

Simultaneously, while the need to develop the hi-technology in Binh Dinh has become essential, the construction and upgrade the scale of FPT here help to create thousands of jobs in software field, IT service, telecommunication, so on.
