FPT IS launches the first transportation management system

After one year of implementation, Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) system deployed by FPT IS for Saigon Newport Company was officially put into operation on April 30, 2016.

SNP is the first Vietnamese logistics enterprise to apply OTM, aiming to improve its management and administration capabilities. OTM system has been implemented for 12 subsidiaries of SNP and is expected to facilitate the customer in business activities such as management of orders, ship scheduling, brokerage and transit.

Speaking at the go-live ceremony, SNP Deputy General Director Mr. Ngo Minh Thuan highlighted the significance of an OTM system as a crucial factor to improve SNP customer service quality in 2016. The project is the initial step in the goal to implement an ERP system for SNP in the future.

Currently, Saigon New Port is accounting for more than 60% of the logistics market share in Vietnam's seaport sector. SNP and FPT have a long-term strategic partnership in IT application in the field of seaport, helping to modernize the information system in order to meet the increasing needs in the logistics industry as well as face increasingly fierce competition from giants in the region
