Bac Giang launches the digital data warehouse deployed by FPT IS

Bac Giang digital data warehouse was officially launched, making a further step in solving data problems, accelerating the formation of digital government, and developing the digital economy and society.

On October 10, in response to the National Digital Transformation Day, the Bac Giang Department of Information and Communications organized the Bac Giang Digital Transformation Day 2022 with the theme "Digital transformation solves society's issues for a better life for people." In the event, FPT Information System Company (FPT IS) and Bac Giang province officially launched the province's digital data warehouse. It is one of the key projects of Bac Giang in the digital government planning for the period of 2022 – 2025.

Mr. Mai Son - Permanent Vice Chairman of Bac Giang People's Committee - emphasized that promoting digital transformation must be implemented through critically specific tasks and solutions in the coming time. It would create a stable, effective, and safe digital environment for people and companies to do their business. Therefore, the province will invest more in forming and strengthening information technology (IT) infrastructure platforms while integrating, linking, and sharing sectoral and local data with national database systems toward a comprehensively digital citizen ecosystem.

A digital data warehouse is a system that integrates structured and unstructured data from people, businesses, and urban government data sources. It is also a tool for urban data management as it forms shared databases and explores value-added data. Thereby, it helps initiate an ecosystem of government – people – businesses through data provision, sharing, and contribution.

Digital data warehouses will bring many critical benefits to people, firms, regulatory bodies, and local leaders. In particular, people and businesses will have the opportunity to access open data sources. Regulators can make data transparent across industries and fields using the shared data warehouse, which avoids data duplication and inconsistencies. Additionally, data will be linked among government agencies, supporting leaders to monitor statistical reports and effectively make socio-economic decisions.

Data planning is no longer a dilemma

Previously, FPT IS has successfully deployed digital data warehouses for many provinces and cities, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, and Tra Vinh,... With years of experience, FPT IS has optimized the process and technology effectively and put the Bac Giang digital data warehouse into operation after only 90 days of project implementation.
