FPT IS successfully implements e-payment system for State Treasury

FPT Information System (FPT IS) successfully built an e-payment system for the State Treasury of Vietnam. It is integrated into the TABMIS (Treasury and Budget Management Information System) – the largest IT system in Vietnam.

The important application has helped facilitate cash transfers within the State Treasury, between Treasury units and between the Treasury and banking systems and ensure security through intelligent PKT (Public Key Infrastructure) cards.   

The entire e-payment system handles around 50,000-60,000 orders per month. Previously, outgoing and incoming payment orders within the State Treasury and between the Treasury and banking systems had to go through multiple steps. This process wasted too much time and human resources and was prone to errors, not to mention tens of servers. However, the operation of the e-payment system has helped process outgoing and incoming payment orders immediately and reduced roughly 50% of procedures within the State Treasury and between the Treasury and banking systems.

"After years of continuous operation, with the successful deployment of such an important feature as e-payment system, it was proved that FP IS mastered the entire system and could deploy other expansion modules in TABMIS in the near future. The result also demonstrated that the capacity for large IT project deployment of Vietnam’s IT enterprises in general and FPT IS in particular. FPT IS has been partnering with the Ministry of Finance and State Treasury for more than 20 years. With in-depth knowledge of technology, and a deep understanding of professional operations, FPT IS completed the project ahead of schedule, meeting all of the demands,” stated Pham Minh Tuan, CEO of FPT IS.

With a total investment capital of roughly USD70 million, TABMIS is the largest IT project in Vietnam, which has been implemented by IBM and FPT IS for eight years now. The system has over 15,000 users and is deployed at 1,500 points nationwide. From 2013 to mid-2015, FPT IS was in charge of system management and operation.
