During Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to Japan, the Vietnam PM had a breakfast meeting with nearly 40 leading Japanese companies. These companies have a total turnover of over USD 1,100 billion.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that Vietnam wants to concentrate on its investment in two areas of hi-tech agriculture and information technology and expects to gain an investment from Japan.
The leading Japanese Corporations confirmed that they desired to boost their investment in Vietnam. They also suggested that the Vietnamese government should pay attention to training high quality human resources and improve the investment environment to attract more foreign capital investments.
As the largest foreign IT Company in Japan, FPT Japan has been involved in connecting the Vietnamese Government and enterprises with the business community in Japan. More than one-third of the 40 Japanese enterprises are in cooperation with FPT such as Yamato, Hitachi, Fujitsu, etc.
In addition, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh met with more than 10 leading Japanese companies in the fields of information systems, chip, printing, hi-tech agriculture etc.
With 760 employees in Japan and nearly 5,000 engineers in Vietnam involved in projects with Japanese clients, FPT is now the largest foreign IT Company in Japan.
In the first four months of 2017, FPT earned VND 1,350 billion in revenue, up to 32% compared to the same period of 2016. It is expected that by 2017, FPT Japan will reach a revenue of VND3,400 billion and contribute 50% of the goal of US1 billion from foreign markets by 2020.
FPT has also signed a contract with a leading partner in the field of ERP in Japan worth up to $35 million, lasting for three years. This is the biggest contract in the ERP field so far of FPT in this market.
Earlier in April, FPT Japan also opened its R&D Center in Okinawa, which aims to improve the company’s access to advanced technology and accelerate the company’s growth in the Japanese market.
