FPT IS wins another USD 8.8 million ERP contract in Bangladesh

FPT IS officially won the USD 8.8 million project to "Provide and implement ERP/EAM" for Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Limited (EGCB). This is the first project in the plan to modernize Bangladesh's energy sector funded by the World Bank and the 2nd one in Utilities.won by FPT IS in this country.

So, after two years in Bangladesh market, FPT IS has won 4 big contracts with a total value of nearly 60 million, equivalent to VND 1,350 billion.

This is a complex project with high requirements. Accordingly, within 18 months, FPT IS will deploy SAP's leading solutions for EGCB with 04 components: core ERP system; Human Resource Management System; Enterprise asset management (EAM) and Business Intelligence (BI). If the project is successfully implemented, it will become the basis for its deployment in all 14 member companies under the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB).

FPT IS beat 06 leading companies with many years of experience from countries such as Korea, India and China to win the project. Understanding customer needs and deployment experience for Vietnamese giants such as Petrolimex; Vietsovpetro, PV Power and earlier projects especially in the same field helped FPT IS be selected.

"The deployment experience in the domestic market helped FPT get new contracts abroad. And now, the projects in new sectors such as Utilities in Bangladesh will help FPT IS more strongly develop in Vietnam. 02 major projects at the same time in the same field will help FP IS with optimal implementation,” stated Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, CEO of FPT IS.

Winning many big contracts worth tens of millions of dollars, FPT was honored Partner of the Year by SAP India. This is the highest award for partners in SAP India’s main markets including India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. This showed that FPT IS’ position in the South Asian market was recognized by big partners.

South Asia is a key market in the global strategy of FPT IS. The projects FPT IS has been implementing for Bangladesh's tax authorities including Integrated VAT Administration System (IVAS) and FPT Bangladesh Integrated Tax Administration System (BITAX) are running on schedule.
