FPT Breaks Ground on Two Key Technology Projects to Celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam

On December 19, 2025, FPT Group simultaneously held groundbreaking ceremonies for two key technology projects in Quang Ninh and Gia Lai, demonstrating the concrete implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

 

These projects are among the landmark works commemorating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, reaffirming FPT’s long-term commitment to investing in technology infrastructure, developing high-quality human resources, and building innovation ecosystems across localities.

AI Research Center in Gia Lai: Building an International AI Hub

 

Specifically, in Gia Lai, FPT broke ground on the Artificial Intelligence Research Center, spanning 11.13 hectares and comprising three core functional zones:

• An AI research and digital technology services production center

• A UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) application research and testing zone

• A data infrastructure center (Data Center)

 

The project aims to promote innovation, investment, and advanced research in artificial intelligence, while attracting and retaining high-quality talent, gradually positioning Gia Lai as an international AI hub.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that the construction of the AI Research Center invested by FPT in Gia Lai holds special significance. It is not only a key project for Gia Lai Province, but also one of the country’s most representative technology infrastructure projects.

 

On behalf of the Government and the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister commended FPT for early identifying artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing as core technologies, and for demonstrating strong determination to invest in a structured, long-term manner with the goal of mastering these technologies. This approach, he noted, aligns closely with global development trends and Vietnam’s strategic orientation for science and technology development in the coming period.

 

He expressed confidence that, with FPT’s investment and the strong commitment of Gia Lai’s provincial leadership, the AI Research Center will not only play a vital role in Gia Lai, the Central Highlands, and Vietnam, but will also emerge as one of the leading AI centers in Southeast Asia and Asia.

At the event, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, highlighted that the groundbreaking of the AI Research Center represents a significant milestone, demonstrating FPT’s determination to implement the cooperation agreement previously signed with Binh Dinh Province (now Gia Lai Province). The project concretely realizes Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on developing science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

 

Tuan Chau Concentrated Digital Technology Zone in Quang Ninh

 

Meanwhile, in Quang Ninh, FPT broke ground on the Investment, Construction, and Operation of Technical Infrastructure for the Tuan Chau Concentrated Digital Technology Zone, covering an area of 8.94 hectares.

 

The project aims to build a synchronized infrastructure system to attract digital technology enterprises in AI, Big Data, IoT, cybersecurity, and R&D, contributing to the development of high-quality technology human resources, promoting digital economic growth, and enhancing Quang Ninh’s competitiveness in the new development phase.

At the Tuan Chau Concentrated Digital Technology Zone, FPT serves as the infrastructure investor, ecosystem architect, and operator. The Group envisions developing the zone into a long-term space for work, research, and innovation, prioritizing software companies, AI, big data, cloud computing, IoT, and cybersecurity enterprises. This concentrated digital ecosystem is expected to accelerate the digital economy and strengthen Quang Ninh’s competitive capacity.

According to Mr. Vu Quyet Tien, the Tuan Chau Concentrated Digital Technology Zone plays an important role in establishing technical infrastructure, development space, and an attractive investment environment for digital technology and information technology activities in the coming stages.

 

FPT’s Strategic Commitment to Core Technologies

 

In the context where science, technology, digital transformation, and innovation are recognized as key drivers for ushering the nation into a new era, FPT has announced the establishment of a Strategic Technology Steering Committee, comprising five core units:

• Quantum AI & Cyber Security Institute (QACI)

• FPT UAV

• FPT Railway Mobility Technology (FMT)

• DC5 (Data Center Development Unit)

 

This strategic move reflects FPT’s ambition to master core technologies, develop high-quality human resources, and contribute to national technological sovereignty.
