FPT Started Construction of the School of Joy in Phu Yen's Mountain Area

The Hope Foundation and FPT Corporation have just started the construction of a preschool in Son Hoa district. The site named Nguyen Xuan Preschool, under the Son Nguyen kindergarten of Son Hoa district, was commenced on June 16, including a standard classroom with a self-contained WC. The total project value is about 1.2 billion VND. The Hope Foundation and FPT Corporation sponsor nearly one billion VND, and the locality reciprocates the rest. It is the third school that the Hope Foundation started this year.

This school site of Son Nguyen kindergartens is located in Nguyen Xuan commune, about 10 km from the center of Son Hoa district. It currently has only one classroom for preschool and pre-K kids, which has expired and is unusable after more than 20 years of age, with the ceiling heavily damaged by termites. At the beginning of the academic year, the school's managers tried to make temporary repairs to avoid leaks and to have room for the children. However, the rotting wooden beams may collapse anytime in the rainy season.

The site has 31 preschoolers, including 11 from Cham H'roi ethnic group. Due to the limited school facilities, it can only accommodate 29 students. If well-repaired, it can increase the number of students to 50.

Ms. Vo Thi Nguyet Thu, Principal of Son Nguyen Kindergartens, said that having a new, solidly built, and safe school had always been the biggest dream of the school's management team. "We want to create a school of joy, where children enjoy full happiness, and their parents feel secure sending them to school," added Ms. Thu. According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh An, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Hoa District, the construction will improve teaching and learning conditions.

During the Ceremony, the Hope Foundation and the school's representative awarded ten students who won the "Dream School" drawing competition. All pictures expressed the kids' wishes for a school of enjoyment where they can peacefully study and play.

Nguyen Xuan Preschool will be constructed with the contribution of FPT Corporation's employees and is promisingly inaugurated in early September 2023. It is considered a gift supporting the community on the occasion of FPT's 35th anniversary, contributing to building a happy future. Mr. Vo Dang Phat - Director of Marketing and Communications of FPT - expressed his expectation that the school would be like the children's dreams, always filled with joy every school day.

The construction of the school is one of the projects under the "Light up the School" program created by the Hope Foundation in 2018. Up to now, 25 schools with 100 classrooms and boarding rooms have been newly built in Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Son La, Dien Bien, Lang Son, Quang Nam, Binh Phuoc...  Besides, nearly 50 spacious WC were given to Van Ho (Son La) and Muong Nhe (Dien Bien) students. 35 schools with 375 classrooms affected by floods in Le Thuy (Quang Binh) were renovated before the school year.

In 2023, the "Light up the School" program aims to build 10 new schools and 50 WC for children in remote areas.
