19/03/2026

On March 19, FPT Corporation broke ground on an education complex in Phu Lien Ward, Hai Phong City, providing integrated K–12 education, practice-oriented college programs, and university training for a total scale of 5,800 students. With this project, FPT continues to expand its high-quality workforce training activities in strategic locations across major northern urban areas.

The FPT Hai Phong Education Complex is located in a new urban area in Phu Lien Ward, in the southern part of the city. This location offers convenient transportation connectivity and aligns with urban expansion planning, helping to ease pressure on the city center.

According to the plan, the project will be built on a site of approximately 10 hectares, with about 2.8 hectares designated for construction (equivalent to a 28% building density), while the remaining area will be used for auxiliary facilities, sports areas, and green spaces. Key highlights include a 13-story administrative building, along with lecture halls and dormitories directly serving teaching and learning activities for students.

Phase 1 of the complex is expected to be operational from early 2027. Upon completion, the complex will be able to accommodate more than 5,800 students.

The investment in this education complex will provide Hai Phong with an additional FPT inter-level school, becoming the second such institution in the city alongside the existing FPT Secondary and High School in Hai Phong. It will also introduce university and postgraduate training programs locally.

The addition of a new general education facility is intended to meet the growing learning demand of students in Hai Phong and surrounding areas, expanding access to technology-integrated and digitally oriented education. At the same time, the introduction of higher education and postgraduate programs will broaden access to advanced education, supporting the city’s goal of developing a high-quality workforce.

Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, speaking at the event

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized that, in the context of global competition shifting toward core technologies and high-quality human resources, the development of education complexes linked with technology and enterprises—such as FPT’s project in Hai Phong—is a strategic long-term direction. It should be considered a key component of development infrastructure and closely aligned with local practical needs.

He also called on Hai Phong City to continue improving institutional frameworks and policies to enable this model to operate effectively, while expressing expectations that FPT will not only train a workforce to meet market demand but also contribute to developing talent capable of mastering, innovating, and leading technology, thereby enhancing national technological autonomy.

Mr. Vu Tien Phung, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee, speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony

At the same event, Mr. Vu Tien Phung, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, stated that the city is entering a new development phase with the ambition of becoming a key growth pole of the Red River Delta and the country, maintaining strong economic growth and an increasingly improved investment environment.

According to city leadership, alongside economic development, Hai Phong identifies education and training—especially high-quality human resource development—as the foundation for enhancing competitiveness and ensuring sustainable growth. Mr. Vu Tien Phung emphasized that attracting reputable corporations to invest in high-quality education complexes is a strategically significant solution. The city highly appreciates FPT’s capabilities and experience in building a comprehensive education ecosystem and its pioneering role in high-tech fields.

City leaders also noted that once completed, the FPT Hai Phong Education Complex will contribute to improving the city’s education network, expanding learning opportunities at multiple levels, and becoming a key nucleus within the city’s education–training–innovation ecosystem in the future.

Currently, in northern Vietnam, Hai Phong is the first centrally governed city to host a large-scale education complex invested and developed by FPT, offering a full range of programs from K–12 and college to university.

The design of the complex is inspired by Hai Phong’s iconic symbols

The design of the complex is inspired by the imagery of sails of seafaring ships and the red flamboyant flowers—symbols closely associated with the port city. This combination evokes the journey of knowledge crossing vast seas, conveying a message of an experiential learning environment where learners explore and gradually conquer new intellectual horizons. With spatial organization divided clearly by education levels, the complex ensures optimal functionality for each group of learners, aiming to personalize learning environments and experiences.

Located in one of the most economically dynamic cities in northern Vietnam, the complex is oriented to provide education from general to postgraduate levels, closely linked with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, data science, semiconductor technology, and other fields aligned with local development strengths.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, speaking at the event

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, emphasized: “FPT is committed to accompanying Hai Phong City in addressing the challenge of training and developing high-quality human resources, especially in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Projects such as the FPT Education Complex are designed to become modern learning environments, enabling students in Hai Phong and neighboring areas to develop comprehensively in knowledge, skills, and practical capabilities. Investing in key education complexes reflects FPT’s proactive role in contributing to national directions, including Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on high-quality human resource development and Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on education and training reform.”

The development of large-scale, modern education complexes across the country is a strategic direction for FPT in training a workforce capable of mastering core technologies, contributing to enhancing national technological autonomy. This also provides students with more opportunities to access technology, improve competitiveness through learning and experience in a digital environment, and gradually realize the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW at both local and national levels.
