FPT Signs Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement with Hai Phong City

On the afternoon of April 9, Hai Phong City and FPT Corporation signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement aimed at accelerating digital transformation, promoting science and technology development, fostering innovation, and training high-quality human resources in Hai Phong City through 2030.
Leaders of the Hai Phong People’s Committee and FPT Corporation signed the cooperation agreement.
Under the agreement, FPT will work with the Hai Phong People’s Committee to develop a modern, synchronized digital infrastructure and platforms; research and invest in building an international-standard Data Center to provide cloud computing services for local government agencies, organizations, and enterprises in Hai Phong City and surrounding areas; or consider the construction of a High-Performance Computing (HPC) Center to serve large-scale computing tasks, especially in Artificial Intelligence (AI) development, meeting the city’s increasing demand for data storage and processing. FPT will also cooperate in developing solutions and roadmaps to optimize the migration of information systems to cloud computing platforms in accordance with the Action Plan of the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong Party Committee to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, with the goal of optimizing investment and operational costs, while enhancing flexibility and cybersecurity.
FPT will dedicate its resources to work with the Hai Phong People’s Committee and relevant departments to develop the digital economy, support digital transformation for local enterprises, foster a science, technology, and innovation ecosystem, develop high-tech industrial parks and related functional areas, nurture high-quality human resources, promote digital data development, build e-government, and complete institutional frameworks in alignment with Resolutions No. 57, No. 03, and No. 71.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee, and Head of Hai Phong’s National Assembly Delegation, emphasized the importance of strengthening the comprehensive cooperation between Hai Phong City and FPT Corporation in driving scientific and technological advancement, innovation, and digital transformation. “Science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are not only necessary but also urgent and imperative,” he stated.
In recent years, FPT Corporation has accompanied Hai Phong City in implementing several initiatives with initial positive results. To effectively carry out the Political Bureau’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation; to enhance administrative efficiency and public service quality amid government streamlining particularly the merger and reorganization of administrative units Hai Phong must accelerate its digital transformation and innovation efforts.
The Party Secretary urged FPT to continue partnering closely with the city, especially in training and developing high-quality human resources, thereby helping Hai Phong make breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. He affirmed that Hai Phong City would create the most favorable conditions and promptly support FPT in addressing any challenges or obstacles encountered during the implementation of the cooperation activities, ensuring timely and effective results.

Reporting on the progress of the cooperation between Hai Phong City and FPT Corporation, FPT CEO Nguyen Van Khoa noted that both sides had piloted the implementation of Project 06 and executed various digital transformation initiatives, such as: piloting AI camera systems to control entry and exit at tourist areas; organizing centralized online examinations through a platform integrated with chip-based citizen ID card authentication in cooperation with the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training; and supporting digital transformation for over 800 enterprises. These solutions have met the expected goals and delivered practical benefits to local authorities, citizens, and businesses.
