FPT Long Chau mobilizes 10 tons of medicine, partners with organizations to aid flood-hit communities

Following the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi, FPT Long Chau swiftly coordinated efforts with the Ministry of Health, the Vietnam Health Trade Union, local health authorities, and media outlets to distribute essential healthcare products to communities affected by the flooding.
This initiative is part of FPT Long Chau's ongoing commitment to support public health and mitigate the risk of post-flood diseases.
In response to the urgent need, Long Chau deployed teams to the hardest-hit areas to assess the situation and worked closely with the Ministry of Health, local departments, Sức Khỏe & Đời Sống newspaper, Tuổi Trẻ newspaper, and others to mobilize 10 tons of medical supplies, valued at 2.5 billion VND (The package included flu medication, treatments for diarrhea and skin conditions, as well as chloramine B for disinfection). These supplies were transported overnight to ensure timely delivery to help communities address the surge of diseases following the floods.
Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen and FPT Long Chau representatives participated in a relief ceremony in Viet Thanh commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province.
The medical support initiative from FPT Long Chau will continue to be updated and extended across various provinces, including Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, and Hanoi, among others, mainly targeting regions severely impacted by the storm and floods.
Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, led a delegation to Bac Giang province to assess the situation, provide assistance, and inspect healthcare efforts to overcome the storm's aftermath.
FPT Long Chau, always prepared to respond swiftly to urgent relief efforts, coordinated closely with media outlets to continue supporting storm and flood recovery activities. With a network of nearly 2,000 pharmacies and vaccination centers across all 63 provinces and cities, FPT Long Chau officially became a donation receiving point for Tuổi trẻ Newspaper, acting as a bridge to assist those in need. The system's commitment to rapid response and community responsibility remains a core principle guiding all actions.
Nearly 2,000 FPT Long Chau pharmacies have become Tuoi Tre's support hubs for flood victims.
In response to the challenges faced by communities after the storm and flood, FPT Long Chau acknowledges its responsibility to act as the "long arm" of the healthcare sector in social initiatives, awareness campaigns, and community outreach. Ms. Nguyen Do Quyen, CEO of FPT Long Chau, emphasized, "The aftermath of storms and floods will bring prolonged health challenges, with epidemics continuing to affect lives for years to come. In addition to our immediate relief efforts, FPT Long Chau will remain committed to collaborating with other organizations and implementing long-term healthcare programs to help people rebuild their health and stability. This is a long-term mission. And while we cannot do it alone, it requires the collaboration of many organizations and departments. Long Chau will leverage our presence in 63 provinces to establish an effective support network."

The Long Chau team has consistently taken proactive measures to support affected communities, collaborating with various organizations to mitigate the consequences of natural disasters. Previously, the team swiftly organized first aid and distributed free medicine across pharmacies in 24 provinces and cities. In parallel, a series of "lightning-fast" volunteer activities took place at FPT Long Chau Pharmacies in the Northern region, where charity gifts, such as essential medicines, drinking water, and vitamins, were handed out to people in need, including residents in Hanoi and Tuyen Quang.
One ton of medicine was delivered to the representative of Lao Cai province.
The Long Chau truck was swiftly dispatched at night to provide timely healthcare support, addressing potential health risks during the flood season.
