FPT opens office in Can Tho to expand IT service workforce for overseas markets

FPT’s new office in Can Tho is expected to provide workspace for 1,000 IT service employees serving overseas markets by 2025, with a goal to expand to 3,000 employees by 2030.

This marks FPT's third office in Can Tho to provide workspace for its IT service personnel catering to foreign markets. Situated at 59-59A Phan Dinh Phung Street, Ninh Kieu District - right in the center of Can Tho City - the new office underscores the city’s significance in Vietnam's digital economic strategy. As the "heart" of the Mekong Delta, Can Tho offers seamless connectivity to key cities across the region. Strategically located near major universities in the city, this office enhances FPT's ability to foster training collaborations and partnerships with academic institutions, contributing to the development of IT resources throughout the region.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, stated: "FPT has made significant contributions to Can Tho in digital transformation, gradually building e-government and fostering the development of the digital economy and society. With a highly skilled engineering team and advanced technological solutions, we believe FPT's new office will become an IT service hub serving not only Can Tho but also the Mekong Delta, Vietnam, and the global market. The city is committed to supporting FPT's growth in Can Tho and the Mekong Delta, making the city richer, more modern, and more livable."

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, affirmed: “FPT is committed to attracting high-quality IT talent, including international experts, to work in Can Tho. We will create opportunities for local talent to contribute to their hometown’s development. Aligned with our strategic focus on AI, semiconductors, digital automotive technology, digital transformation, and green technology, FPT pledges to invest further in Can Tho, bringing advanced technological solutions to the city.”

“To meet the increasing demand from global clients, we are opening a third office in Can Tho for IT services targeting international markets. In 2025, we aim to build a team of 1,000 employees and expand to 3,000 by 2030," stated Mr. Tang Phu Khoa, Director of FPT Software Can Tho.
Currently, FPT employs approximately 500 IT engineers and experts in Can Tho across various sectors, such as manufacturing, finance, logistics, and healthcare, handling major projects for leading global corporations.

In 2024, all FPT's international IT services project managers will be trained and certified in PMP (Project Management Professional). This certification not only highlights FPT's ability to meet global standards in project management but also strengthens the Corporation's credibility with potential global partners.

According to the Government’s plan for 2030 and vision for 2045, Can Tho is positioned to become the Mekong Delta’s center for science and technology, education and training, specialized healthcare, and logistics. Over the years, FPT has introduced initiatives to promote digital transformation and develop high-quality human resources for the region.

The establishment of the third IT services office in Can Tho marks a significant milestone, reflecting more than a decade of contributions toward building Can Tho into a modern technology hub with advanced solutions such as AI, big data, and digital transformation platforms.
