FPT named ASEAN’s only tech firm in Nikkei Asia 300

Japanese business publication Nikkei Asian Review recently listed the 300 largest companies in Asia (Asia 300). FPT was ASEAN’s sole representative in the field of information technology in the list.

Japanese business publication Nikkei Asian Review recently listed the 300 largest companies in Asia (Asia 300). FPT was ASEAN’s sole representative in the field of information technology in the list.

Besides FPT, the list included four other Vietnamese companies including SK Holdings (Korea), Tata Consultancy Services (India), HCL Technologies (India), Infosys (India) and Wipro (India).

Asia 300 is a list of the continent's biggest and fastest-growing companies from 11 economies based on market capitalization, growth potential and geographic balance.

This is the 3rd consecutive year, FPT has been honored by Nikkei. According to the Nikkei Asian Review, FPT is the largest information technology company in Vietnam. The company is engaged in a wide array of activities including software development, telecommunications and marketing of IT products. It undertakes software development for many foreign clients, with half of orders coming from Japan.

After the first 5 months, FPT earned VND 2,195 billion in revenue from overseas markets, an increase of 36% and VND 313 billion in profit before tax, an increase of 45% over the same period last year. The software export sector made the largest distribution with 38% revenue growth and 26% profit before tax growth, getting 103% and 100% of the plan done.

Especially the Japanese market - the largest foreign market of FPT reached the highest revenue growth in recent years, with an increase of 58% over the first 5 months of 2015.

After the first 5 months of 2016, FPT earned VND 14,633 billion in revenue and 1,037 billion in profit before tax, getting 97% and 109% of the plan done. Profit after tax attributable to Parent Company shareholders was VND 722 billion, completing 116% of the plan. EPS was VND1.814.
